My primary care physician, who practices a lot of alternative and complementary medicine, has asked me to try some ionic foot baths, especially since I have a really hard time detoxifying, as well as multiple environmental and chemical sensitivities.

He wants me to try them once per week for a month, through someone he knows and uses, who already has a few of them.

He says, if, by me doing them for that long, they truly end up making me really feel better, which, he thinks, they will, the company, who makes them, actually has a financing plan, where I can get one for less than it would cost me to do them once per week at $50 each, through them.

He said, he would really like to see me do them more than once per week, preferably two to three times per week, so, if I financed one, I could, definitely, do them more often and, hopefully, receive even more benefits from doing them, which, he thinks, I would.

If, I consider, through them, it would cost me $200 per month to do them only once per week, plus what it would cost me for gas to have to make a two hour round trip once per week, not to mention the inconvenience it would cause me, I can see it would, certainly, cost me much less, in the long run, to finance one.

In addition, if, I had one at home, I would have the added benefit of being able to do them more often, without any additional costs, which means I would save even more money, and, hopefully, experience even more positive benefits, plus it would certainly make it more convenient for me.

He's a firm believer in them, based upon his own positive experience, doing them only once per week over several months.

Also, he's had his wife and two children do them, where they've experienced positive benefits, doing them only once per week over several months, too.

As well, he has had some of his sickest patients do them, especially those who have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lyme disease, multiple environmental and chemical sensitivites, etc., and says, all of them have reported experiencing positive benefits, doing them only once per week over several months, also.

Before I even try them, much less consider purchasing one, though, does anyone here have any experiences with them, both good and/or bad, which you wouldn't mind sharing with me?

If you don't mind, I'd also like to have some additional information about them, if you can provide me with any, outside of what the company, who manufacturers them, has to say about them.

Here is a link to the one, which he is referring to: http://amajordifference.com/ion.php

I've decided to try the alternative route to treat my multiple infections, instead of using antibiotics, at the present time.

That's not to say I don't believe antibiotics have their place, as I believe they do, but I've come to realize there is more to treating them, than that, where multiple methods need to be used, if I ever want to feel good again.

I'm, simply, wanting to try some alternative methods, before I think about going back on them, as I tend to suffer from a lot of different side effects, with each one of them I try.

I now have a rife machine, which I just need to get hooked up.

Before I even attempt to use it though, I'm trying to put into place some really good ways to help myself detoxify a lot better, first.

I have a FIR sauna, as well as a hot tub, which I'll have ready to use, soon.

I have a steam tent, too , which I'm going to filter ozone and oxygen into and I'll have hooked up soon, also.

I'd really like to add the ionic foot bath, along with them, if I can find some really good information about its benefits.

In addition to them, I, currently, take plenty of supplements to support my detoxification.

Do you think my plan is a good or bad one and why?

Do you have any suggestions, which might be worth me considering adding to my plan?

I'd certainly appreciate any helpful advice you can give me, especially from those of you, who are way ahead of me with all of this!

Thank you! [Smile]

Wow Jennie,

You sure are jumping into this wholeheartedly.

I have little personal experience with the footbath but will share what I do have.

My integrative care doctor believes in them and recommended them to me for my heavy metal toxicity. He does not offer it in his office, so he wasn't trying to make money off me.

A local chiropractor does have the footbath and allows one free visit. I did the free visit. Lots of dark orange color and lots of foamy stuff.

The nurse walked by (this office knew nothing of my illness). She looked at the color of the water and said "Wow, you have joint issues."

Yep, my lyme has progressed to rheum. arthritis, but she didn't know that. She also said: "The white foamy stuff indicates yeast".

I have been battling yeast.

My feet tingled for days. I didn't notice any improvement or digression from the footbath, but one time is not enough I am sure.

BTW, this chiropractor charges $35 per visit or a series of 10 visits for $250.

I would love to do these but must pick and choose how I spend my dollars. I can't live without my massage therapist so I choose her.

I would love to have one of my own.

Hi Luvs,

Thanks for sharing your experience with me! I truly appreciate it!

I'm so sorry to hear of all the issues you have! I hope you find a way to rid yourself of them and feel better soon!

Like you, I have to wisely pick and choose how I spend my dollars too!

The alternative route isn't inexpensive, but it's one I'm willing to invest in, for the long run, in hopes I will reap some major benefits from it and start to feel better soon!

I have one at home and use it 2-3 times per week. I definitely think doing it at home is better. I tried weekly somewhere else and it was hard to go do it but when it is right here, it is easier. I do think they help - enough at least that I continue to do it. I am using the GTech Body Cleanse but the one you mention is an excellent option as well. I don't btw think the color of the water matters much - it will turn colors even without feet in it. I also don't think it is what comes out in the water as much as the improvement in detox that occurs for a couple of days after a session.

Hi Scott,

I was hoping, since you're quite knowledgeable in these things, you would end up replying to my post!

Thank you for sharing your experience with me!

It helps me a lot to know what you told me!

I truly appreciate it!

I had one session with an EB-305 ionic footbath. It was amazing. I immediately felt fantastic. But for $50. a pop I didn't go back, even though I wanted to.

I don't think these particular machines can be found used. I'd love to buy one, but don't think I'll come up with the bucks for it, myself. But if I do, I suppose I'll set up shop and charge the going rate.

For heat and sweat I use an old hot tub that we got used. FIR sauna is better, but this is what I've got. I let the chlorine all evaporate off before I get in.

Among my best treatments have been the homeopathics from Deseret Biologicals - Lym, Borrelia, and Bartonella remedies. A professional has to order them.

Also, lots of artemicin and teasel root.

I also like the Sota Silver pulser. You attach it to your wrist and it's supposed to kill bacteria in the blood. Sharinghealth.com.

Best of luck to you.

Hi Bejoy,

Wow!

Thanks for sharing your experience with the foot baths, as well as some really helpful advice in other areas!

I truly appreciate it!

I'll be sure to check everything out!

At this point, I'm willing to do anything to feel better! Well, almost anything, I suppose! LOL!

I'm just trying to educate myself about all of the alternative treatments, so I can try to make sure, as much as possible, I spend what limited resources I have on those, which are worthwhile!

Hi, Jennie -

I don't have anything to add except to say that it sounds like you are doing a very good job of giving yourself the best shot at success with alternative treatments and detoxing!

If it were me, I would probably do up to a month of the foot baths before I decided to purchase a machine. I've made the mistake of jumping in too soon on a few things that I ended up not using, for one reason or another.

All the best, [Smile]

I think $50 bucks for these is a bit high. I have been paying $35 here in WI. The unit my colonic therapist has costed 2,300. If I had the money I personally would buy one. My legs feel so good after these, like the blood is flowing again.

Hi Truthfinder,

Thank you, very much, for letting me know you think I'm doing a good job! That's, definitely, what I was hoping to hear! It's, certainly, nice to have confirmation of that, so I'm thankful you took the time to let me know!

I'm going to try to do them once per week for a month, through someone, first! Like you said, I, certainly, don't want to jump into purchasing a unit, then find out I'm not going to use it, for whatever reason! It's important to me I feel the unit is worth me investing in, first, even if it means I have to endure a little inconvenience, especially since I, really, don't have a lot of money to burn! Thanks for the helpful reminder!

Hi Johnlyme1,

I think the cost is, a little, high, also, but, since I'm not living in a, really, big town, my options are limited!

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is only one provider, too!

That's wonderful it makes your legs feel like that!

I hope to find out it does the same for me and more!

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with me and letting me know you feel it's worth the investment!

I truly appreciate it!

Hi Jen...from one Jen to another, [Smile]

Thank you, very much, for sharing your experience with them with me!

I truly appreciate it!

It's sounding more and more like they're going to be very helpful to me and it will be worth me investing in one!

I should know more soon, as I plan to do my first one, this coming week!

I'm glad they're helping you!

How are your hyperbaric treatments going for you?

I've thought about doing that, too, but I assume they're expensive and my insurance won't cover them, plus I don't think there's any availability close to me!

Hi Truthfinder,

Awh, that was very sweet and thoughtful of you to say to me!

Thank you so much!

That makes me feel very good about the journey I'm on for me to find alternative treatments, which are really worth trying, in hopes they will help me a great deal!

It's not been really easy for me to find out about and research all of the numerous things, especially the alternative ones, which I can do to treat my infections!

I'm sure there are many more that exist too, which I'm not even aware of, at the moment, but I'm willing to learn all I can about them, in hopes, I can somehow manage to get my infections to go into remission and, in turn, feel much better, someday, over time, of course!

I realize, it's a long, tough journey for me to endure, but I have every good intention of staying the course and to keep doing what I'm doing, plus even more, if I really feel the need to!

That includes me continuing to stay very open to any new ideas, which I come across, and feel they are worth my consideration, if I truly want to succeed at being healthy again, someday, hopefully, as soon as possible!

It's, honestly, always been my heartfelt belief almost anything really worth, actually, having hardly, ever, comes very easy to anyone, but, most of the time, it ends up being very well worth the effort one puts forth, in the long run, especially if it is paved with very good intentions, of course!

You're quite welcome for me starting the topic!

I'm very glad you've learned a lot here!

I hope others here experience the same thing you have, by me doing so!

I've, already, learned a lot here from others, intend to learn, even, more from them, and am thankful for all of the support everyone here has, always, given to me!

By the way, I really like your login name, nickname, or whatever you want me to call it!

I think, it's, definitely, very unique and quite well-fitted for the board here!

Like you, as well as myself and all of the others here, I really believe we are all truly wanting to find the truth behind everything ailing us and what we can, successfully, do about it, so we can all be healthy again and get our normal lives back!

I'm so grateful LymeNet exists and I found it, as, without it, I have, absolutely, no idea how I would ever be in such a good position, as I am now, already, as far as knowing as much as I do about lyme disease and my other infections, including just about anything anyone would ever want and/or need to know about all of it!

I, actually, firmly believe it's the very best website on the internet, for not only just lyme disease, but all of the other numerous infections, as well, which often tend to exist with it, including, like I said, just about anything anyone would ever want and/or need to know about all of it!

Jennie

Jennie, maybe you start with something like it, but without the price tag. I just thought of those foot bath machines they have for sale in Walgreen etc this time of year. Maybe some essential oils added that are known for detoxification abilities?

Wow, maybe Santa should bring me a foot bathe thing? I know my feet are toxic, because when they hit the floor first thing in the morning, it feels like I've been walking on hot coals all night. Bart thing for sure.

Hi Pam,

That sounds like a really good idea!

You're very creative, indeed!

I already have that kind of foot bath, but I don't know much about essential oils for detoxification.

Do you know what I should buy?

Thanks for the helpful suggestion!

I would have never thought to do something like that!

I truly appreciate it!

I'm so sorry your feet feel like that!

I hope you can find something to bring you some relief and soon!

I'll tell Santa, next time I see him, you'd really like to have one of those foot baths! [Smile]

My Santa would tell me to pick it out or take me shopping with him and show him exactly what I wanted. He'd buy me the moon if I showed him what I wanted. I better count my blessings.

I'm just starting the essential oils stuff myself. A friend bought me a book that I've been reading and I have started experimenting with them.

So far I'm using frankincense, bergamol, eucalyptus and lavender. I use them in detox baths, scenting my home and in massage oils. If these were fit for a king and baby Jesus gifts, then worthy of rubbing his feet, then they will help heal me.

Do you have a health food store close? The selections and scents are great.

Pam

Hi Pam,

That's my kind of Santa!

Yeah, you're a lucky girl!

Do you mind sharing the name of the book with me?

I'd like to look it up on Amazon.com, if I can, to find out more about it and, maybe, buy it.

I wrote down the oils you mentioned and will see if I can find them at my local health food store, so I can try to use them, as you do.

It's quite tiny though, but worth trying!

If I can't find them there, I can always order them online, like I have to do with a lot of my supplements!

Is there a particular brand you use, which you feel is good?

Whatever they're fit for, I hope they help you!

Thanks for your helpful information and suggestions!

Love, Light, & Health,
Jennie

Jennie, thanks for making this thread.

I went into the website you posted, but couldn't find how much this Ion Cleanse Premier machine costs. Do you have an idea?

It sounds like a good idea to have one at home.

I only do home foot baths with very hot water (salt + vinegar), but was mostly for my feet fungi. That was the only thing that could make my life bearable in the last 5 years, or I wouldn't even be able to wear shoes in winter (I only have these infections in winter).

Funny thing is that I do muscle tests and keep discovering products by accident. The last product I discovered was jojoba oil, that I use to rub on my skin. It tests EXCELLENT to rub on my feet.

That's the only place my body 'tells' that needs to be rubbed with this oil. I consistently keep asking, and my body always says: 'for detox'. Rubbing on the face helps a bit, but it's the feet that keep testing on an on for months. It tests excellent for detox.

I start to believe that the feet are a sensitive place of our bodies for detoxing!!! I'm rubbing the oil everyday for the last months. I'm doing that to my daughter too. But I wonder if something a bit 'stronger' wouldn't be better!

I don't have lyme anymore, but I still fight fungi and metals. That's why I would like to know about this machine. Any info would be helpful. Thanks and good luck on your new path to health!

I would add some homeopathy too! It helps on a different level!

Selma

Posted by jjeennnniiee (Member # 7964) on :

Hi Selma,

If you go to the specific page about that unit, there are tabs at the top of the image on the page, which you can click on.

Under each one of them there is a lot more information about it.

There are differences in the units, mostly, I think, just what you get with them, though.

Like, for instance, the premier comes with extra plates, so when the original ones wear out, you already have some new ones.

If you look on there again, and you still can't find the information you need, just let me know and I'll copy and paste the information here.

I'm happy to hear you've overcome your lyme disease and have found some relief for your feet!

I've never really had that problem before, so I can't really say a whole lot about it, except I hope you can overcome it completely too and soon!

Thank you very much for the good luck wishes with my new path to health, as well as the homeopathy suggestion, which I'm currently exploring too!

Jennie

Great thread everyone - I also learned alot. Mostly I learned that my local health store is a bargain in offering them at $25. per visit, lol.

So, I'm taking it Scott, that u feel these are safe for metal detox? Traditional cleation scares the hell out of me, so I have been procrastinating a bit with that. Love the Health marvels detox pads tho! Interesting, I noticed that the 1st time I tried the green ones (which have the highest amounts of far infared & neg ions) my legs were actually pulsing with energy - felt sooo good. I think I'll spend the $25.and try 1 of the foot baths and see if they feel that well during that.

FYI - for those w/ cable & satallite dishes - there is a new station which I got free for a few weeks - then ordered for $2.99 per mo - called Veria - they also have website - but the channel is all on alternative health. Have learned alot.
One of the shows is about ess. oils and aroma therapy - more to it than I ever knew, lol.

(((hug)))

I did my first detox foot bath today and thought it was well worth the $40. It is a nice way to detox.

Scott what color does the water turn without any feet in it?

The woman who did my foot bath said the dark black color near my heels was produced from heavy metals and she was pointing out foam from Candida and parasites to me. One color in the water maybe it was blue green she said was from my kidneys. Did she not know what she was talking about?

I have a ionic foot detox bath unit on the way.

Sure hope it helps.

The bottom of my feet burn at times since coming down with lyme and company.

And I do not have a bath at the new apartments to take an epsom salt detox bath in.

Scott...have you considered doing an interview or an article on the ionic foot baths??

The company that I am getting mine from is

http://www.theionspa.com

They donate part of the their profits to the Lyme Disease Association and other organizations as listed on their web site.

I noticed that they were also much less than other web sites I looked at.

My LLMD recommended an ionic foot bath too.

I feeling extremely tired today and the area around my spleen is hurting. It has not hurt like this for a long time. Anyone with detox foot bath experience did I over do yesterday or is this part of the detox process?

The woman who gave me the foot bath timed it for 30 minutes exactly.

Anyone who tries a detox foot bath make sure you drink lots of water before and after the bath. Maybe I did not drink enough? I woke up in the middle of the night and I was very thirsty.

A retired chemistry professor by the name of Dr. Stephen Lower claims that the foot bath is nothing more than electrolysis. He also describes what is actually occurring when you use the detox foot bath.

Oh, and from what I have read, the water will turn different colors regardless of whether your feet are in the water or not.

http://www.chem1.com/CQ/FootBathBunk.html

Here is another interesting link:

http://www.wikihow.com/Test-a-Detox-Foot-Bath

Down bellow is a quote from Dr. Lower's website regarding the detox foth bath devices:

"So how do these things really work?

You place your feet in a bowl of water to which a bit of salt has been added. A small electric current is passed between two electrodes immersed in the water, which soon becomes quite discolored.

The color, of course, comes from electrolytic corrosion of the metal electrodes. These are usually made of iron, nickel, and copper, all of which decompose into colored ions.

These colors will vary with the amount of salt present and the pH of the solution, and they can be changed and greatly intensified by the substances that either added to the bath before use, or are present in the "soaps" often used to prepare the patient's feet.

By-products of the electrolysis process are bubbles of hydrogen and chlorine gases (both of which are dangerous in confined spaces) and sodium hydroxide, commonly known as "lye".

The latter tends to soften skin, allowing it to flake off, pick up various colors on reacting with the metal ions, and complete the illusion that one usually pays dearly for:

individual treatments can be from $50 up, and the grossly overpriced power supply "machines" sold for home use can go for more than $1000.

(You could of course build your own power source from parts obtainable from Radio Shack for around $35; see here for instructions.) And of course, all that really gets cleaned out is your wallet! "

But then again maybe Dr. Lower doesn't understand what is really happening.

I guess the only people that would know whether or not the detox foot baths were helping would be the people receiving the foot bath.
