Since taking Provigil 200 mg, I have noticed some facial swelling.

My face feels hot and a little bit tender to touch right at the cheek bone.

Gonna run it past the doc today, but was wondering if anyone else out there experienced this. I'm a bit sad, cuz the Provigil seemed to help my alertness level.

I've never experienced that with provigil, so have no words of wisdom, other than run it past your doc (and stop taking it till you've talked to your doc, just in case).

Provigil's insert lists that it should not be used by people with mitral valve prolapse syndrome - could that be an issue for you?

Hope you find the cause,
Cactus

Sorry to hear this. I didnt experience it. I think you have some glands/nodes in that area.

If it turns out you cant take Provigil you can try Ritalin. I actually like the Ritalin better and it is a heck of a lot cheaper!!

I was sorry to hear this Visual.

I can't hardly function without Provigil.

However, I take 100mg a day.

I guess there's a small chance, with swelling, you could be allergic??

Hope some substitute can be found.

BTW, at my worst, Provigil didn't even keep me awake!!

Sure would like to see you do a Fry Labs blood smear. You've been through so much. Can't imagine how frustrated you must be getting. Like to have a look-see around those red blood cells of yours.

Hugs,

Michelle

Talked to the doc about the face swelling.

He said that it would be a strange presentation if it was an allergic reaction to the provigil.

Anyway.. today no provigil and no swelling. Strange.

Now that I think about it... I might have brought that on myself. I didn't notice until today, that you should't drink while taking provigil. I had a few beers on Monday night while watching football. Then Tuesday my face looked swollen. Strange.

Whatever.. I'm done with Provigil. I'll just continue to be SLEEPY.

did your doctor tell you to quit the provigil? you're giving up on it so soon? I hear it can be very helpful.

Caffine makes me dizzy... and it seems to make my brain fog worse.

I can't take too much of it. But I am resorting to it right now. Terrible.

I really think the fact that I drink alchohol the night before had to do with the reaction.

Provigil hasn't been studied with alcohol. So others beware.
