For those who took bactrim-what did you take it for, and with what? My LLMD still syas it's good for bart/babs with zith. I've researched-can't find any evidence for this against babs. Thanks-shoney

I am taking it right now with 250mg of zithro a day. I started out six months ago on 1 malarone and 1zithro a day. Then added bactrim DS 2 a
day about three months into the malarone. I had a lot of improvments on this combo. My burning
was gone! Then my llmd wanted to take me off the malarone. He says bactrim fights babs too,
but I thought it had to be taken w/ malarone/mepron? I can tell you after getting off the malarone I have had symptoms return,
like the burning. My babs symptoms are not real bad right now, but for me the malarone did better than the bactrim. I think the bactrim fight lyme too.

I looked at the Dr. H. notes from the New Haven symposium held in May and he writes:
"Consider using plaquenil + mepron + macrolide + septra if concurrent babesia/bartonella."
also
"If using multiple abx simultaneously, consider adding nystatin, diflucan, probiotics and a low CHO/yeast-free diet."

Thanks valymemom-I know my LLMD just came back from the Boston lyme conference. He went with Dr G (doesn't your son see him?). He feels after the initial load is down, bactrim is effective.
Marcie-interesting your LLMD also has you on zith/bactrim for babs. Must be a new thing. Did you take the malarone away from the zith/bactrim-how did you space the stuff?

For some reason that one sounds familiar. I think they gave me that for a staph infection I got while my picc line was in, but my brain was too swollen, so I forget that part of my life.

Hi Shoney-- I would take malarone and zithro together in the morning w/ breakfast. Then towards afternoon/evening I would take the
bactrim. I don't take the 2 bactrim at the same time I space them out. I also take supplements
and space everything out by two hours. This can be trickey at times! There is not enough time
in the day for all this! Hope that helps.

I was on bactrim with other abx's switching it out now and bringing in tindamax again also on minocin. 6 months bactrim for lyme and coinfections not leaving anything out except virus's at the moment.Did mepron with tini and bactrim 3.5 months then had to stop mepron drug induced fevers I was on to many at same time.
