Hi - new to the board. Dx with chronic EBV, HHV-1, Fibro, etc., etc.

Have taken mega doses of antibiotics, antifungals and antivirals over the last six months.

Yesterday Western Blot came back positive for Lyme. Dr. started Rocephin but had allergic reaction. Wants to do I.V. antibiotics for six-12 weeks, six days a week.

Anybody have any experience with this? What meds and how did you do? Thanks for the help!

Sue

WELCOME*)!*)!!
!)*!*)!!*!!

I had fibro once upon a time and it SUCKED and thank goodness is 100% gone and has been gone for 7+ years now-

If you go to the Support Groups section on the
upper left part of this screen you can find a whole bunch of in-person groups too- those are nice, too*)! In fact, I had them already in my COPY button because there's another new Floridian over in Gen Support!!! So you can choose from one of these for in-person if you want!!! (Going through Support Groups link!)

The Bay Area CFIDS/FMS Support Group
~Central Florida Lyme Support
~Eye On Lyme Network (Statewide)
~Florida Lyme Disease Network, Inc. (Statewide)
~LIFE-Lyme (Lyme International Foundation for Education)
~Lyme Support Group Florida
~Suncoast CFS_FMS_Lyme Support Network (Tampa)
~The Lyme Leading The Lyme Support Group (Orlando)

YES YES ROCPEIHN saved my life- I was on it for 9 months and my fibro went away in the last couple of months- some peopple recover MUCH more quickly but Rocepihn is a GREAT way to go!! Are you sure it was an allergic reaction adn not a Herx? Do you know what a Herx is? Are you seeing a real Lyme doc or just your family doc??!?! There is also Claforan- and lots of other options like IM Bicillin injections once
a week!!! Rocepin saved me though- love that stuff!!!

Welcome again,
Best wishes,
Sarah

Hi I couldn't take rocephin due to allergic reaction also, and my LLMD started me in Iv zithromax, but also did clindamycin, and doxy IV.

So, those are just some more options to explore with your LLMD.

I wish you well!

I also developed an allergy to ceftriaxone, so my LLMD gave me IV Primaxin in place of it along with azithromycin. I'm still at the beginning of treatment, but some people have success with Primaxin for neuro symptoms.
