just wanted to give an update on my treatment in hopes that it might help somebody. As I wrote in previous threads most of my lyme symptoms have gone away with 600mg doxy and zithromax 500mg(headaches, stiff neck, eye pains, tingling in hands, stiff elbow, fatigue etc.) What remained was burning in my legs, mostly feet and calves, but some in the thighs too. Months of Levaquin and Rifampin combined with Doxy it didn't help much. In the middle of my Rifampin protocol I developed fever, diarhea, throwing up and the burning flared up as well. Herx? My LLMD thinks so, but also suspected yeast played a role, due to me always having phlegm in my throat as well.
He put me on Diflucan 200mg(been on Nystatin for a month) 4 days ago (still taking Doxy and Rifampin) and I have seen the greatest improvement in burning since this ordeal started 9 months ago. Yesterday and the day before that I was burning free for the first time, today it's back but very little. I hope to god this continues.
The point here is that if you have lingering symptoms that are not going away, yeast is something worth looking into, as it can cause a variety of neuro symptoms. There is also some research that Diflucan works against Lyme by inhibiting certain enzymes that the bacteria needs. I took Theralac all this time and it obviously didn't prevent me from catching it.
Anyone have a similar experience?

Thank you Chamade,
Definitely a good reminder. I know that I've talked to my LLMD about using Diflucan at the end of my treatment to clean up any yeast.
At this point, he's given me random pills off and on over the last year, but as you say, it's often hard to see the difference in lyme symptoms vs yeast and even though I have stuck to the candida diet to EXTREMES, I still find that yeast catching up to me every now and then with all these abx.
I do hope this turns out to be a great break through for you. Keep us posted.

Just wondering when you say you feel yeast catching up on you, what symptoms do you have in mind?
BTW, not sure about taking Diflucan randomly, yeast develops resistance as well.

Hey,
What great news.
I too struggle with burning, all over. I triend Difucan, did nothave the same results that you did.
Although I do think that yeast is a big part of this along with toxins.
Have your tried chlorella or any toxin binders?
Good luck, peace, B
