I have been off of IV Rocephin for one week, starting IV Doxy on Tuesday. No meds presently.

Question, anyone else experience unrelenting nausea as a symptom of Lyme? I have not vomited, just very nauseous and hypersensitive to even the smell of foods....this has been for three days now.

Gut and head stuff are only symptoms. Anxiety, facial numbness, head pressure and general weakness. I am also VERY low.

Thank you,
Rhonda

Does your spleen feel like its inflamed, thats what seems to make me feel sick alot. Right below your liver on the right side. ( 2 inches below your right last rib) Be careful...if you spleen sis swellon if can burst from excerises, or pushing hard enough. Duck tells me this.

Yes, this sounds like a symptom. I get nauseated quite frequently and feel like I may puke but never do. Not a good feeling at all. I know how you feel. And yes, hypersensitivity to smells and sounds are definitely a symptom. I have that.

Two things that will knock out nausea...get either of these...ginger capsules at any store that has vitamin and supps OR even better chewable papaya tablets work awesome.
Take care.

For me, nausea usually = yeast OR too much acid in the stomach.

I just got this new liquid my LLMD recommended. It's called Lily of The Desert Aloe Vera Liquid for the stomach. It has peppermint and pau d'arco (antifungal and probiotics in it). Got it on VitaCost. (I am not benefitting financially from that website).

Also: Primal Defense helps a lot...caplets AND Perfect Food Caplets (both made by Garden of Life).(also on vitacost...the cheapest)

Someone else on the board just recommended to me:
New Chapter Supercritical Omega 7 30 Each Softgels $16.77 (from Vitamin Shoppe online)

In the meantime, Pepcid AC and/or Maalox from your pharmacy could tide you over.

Good Luck,

Clarissa

Nausea has been my number one symptom of Lyme since day 1. It is that sensation in my throat before you vomit. I don't have any stomach discomfort.

Oddly, all the antibiotics don't make it worse. No medications seem to help it either. I'm finding the intensity of the nausea is subsiding some with each month of treatment.

Was this a symptom of yours prior to treatment or has just developed during treatment?

I just developed this! Along with lots of burbling, occasional pelvic/intestinal spasming feeling, and strong urge to go #2. It totally sucks. Does anyone know what this could be? I haven't changed any meds.

Nausea is my worst symptom and NOTHING seems to help it, I have tried I think everything in the book.

Nausea has got to be one of the owrst symptoms someone can have.

CD57 Me too, the urge to go # 2 along w/ the nausea. Just dry heaves and lots of gurguling stomach sounds.

Thanks everyone for your input.

does food appeal to you guys? I have to make myself gag it down.

I have forced myself to eat every little piece of food for the past 2.5 years... It's not fun, people that dont have this symptom are blessed

I had nausea 24 hours a day for a couple of years- with occasional vomiting fits triggered by MCS-

no nausea in years now- thank goodness!

I know what you are going through. Phenergan works best for me (if oral phenergan does not stay down, my doc has prescribed me phenergan in a supository form). If you don't want any prescribed anti-nausea meds then try ginger in hot tea. best of luck to you. [Smile]

Rhonda,

My nausea was caused by food sensitivities. Once I identified and cut out the foods, my nausea really decreased. Unfortunately, the lab I used is no longer around.
