I have been in treatment now for about 4 months.
My LLMd uses Dr. B's protocol to the T. In fact , he worked for/with him for over a decade.
So, He knows what he is doing.
He started me with bicillin and levaquin to get rid of bart .
After stopping levaquin, I continued on bicillin, then took valtrex for my viral titers being high.
Now, I am still taking bicillin (never stopped), and added zithromx 2 weeks ago.
I know I am herxing now, cause it is that time.
each time I herx, I get a new , or intense symptom.
Last month, my vision got affected. I saw an eye specialist, and my eyes are normal.
This month, I have stinging, pin prick, and itchyness sensations. especailly in face.
I have gotten little red specs on and off over these months. Not many, maybe 5 total red specs on my body.
I don't know if this is a herx, or morgellons. And, do you think my llmd would know about morgellons? Dr. Burascanno does not mention it in his protocol with the other coinfections.
I am going to see my doc next week, but should I call him and ask him about morgellons, or just wait it out till I see him next week. I think ABX is how they treat morgellons, right?

Hi Jen,

Alot of lymies get the stinging/itching skin as part of our symptoms or herx. It is good to mention all your symptoms to your llmd. I would wait until you see him next week, unless the skin symptoms become too painful. Could it be a side effect of the valtrex or zith?

Fortunately, morgellons seems to remain relatively rare. There are far more of us with lyme than with morgellons. Probably you should not worry too much about developing morgellons while on abx and anti-virals. Not to dismiss your concerns, it is good to remain vigilant and keep a record of all your symptoms. Have you been tested for babesia?

Do you experience numbness and tingling in your face as well?

And the red spots do they come out of your skin or are they just like someone just put a red dot on you with a marker?

Hi Jenin,

If you want to ease your mind about
having Morgellons, I've found the easiest
check is to examine the back of either
hand or arm with an inexpensive pocket scope
from Radio Shack.

What you will be looking for are
fibers, some close to the same width as
human hair. Most folks will have black,
clear, with fewer red and some blue. Also
prevalent will be small black specs about
the size of a grain of salt.

The fibers that I use to have
would sometimes curl around my natural
hair and rarely penetrate the skin. Their
appearance is markedly different than
human hair or any fabric fibers.

I had Morgellons and Lyme back in
'04 and beat both conditions with herbs.
Just search for Morgellons posted by jwf.
You'll find 19 references to Morgellons.
I found Morgellons to be far worse than
Lyme, but it's great to be free of both.

Blue Skies.......John
