For those with Lyme, would you mind sharing your recovery experience? How long had you been infected? What was your treatment? How long did it take before you were feeling better? Was there any *one* thing you did that made you feel better? I think these things would be interesting and hopefully encouraging.

p.s. For those with Lyme, would you mind sharing your recovery experience?

**NO, not at all.

How long had you been infected?

** 2+ years. But I believe it was reinfection and the true number is probably 15 years or so-

What was your treatment?

*** Orals & then 9 months IV Rocephin, 2 years Mepron & zith, 1 year ARTemisia & then cipro & zithro for a year- then oral amoxi-

How long did it take before you were feeling better?

******18 months before stopped progressing & turned around-

Was there any *one* thing you did that made you feel better?

****IV Rocephin!!!

I think these things would be interesting and hopefully encouraging-

***Hope so!!! Take care!(*)(*!

Infected for 35 years. Sick for 4 years this time before getting diagnosed. Finally diagnosed for the first time one year ago.

Treated with Mepron, Biaxin, Artemisia, Plaquenil, Doxycycline, Minocycline, Amoxicillin/Probenecid, Levaquin, Rifampin, Lariam, Malarone ..... plus supplements, probiotics, and herbs.

At this point, my primary problem is adrenal fatigue and low thyroid. Lyme seems to be going into remission. I still have the cyst form, and we are working on that slowly.

Currently I'm on Minocycline, Lariam, Plaquenil (all for maintenance), GSE for cysts, Full Cowden, plus supplements, plus thyroid meds. We are working on detoxing right now, along with supporting my thyroid and adrenals. We'll go back for the rest of the Lyme with Tindamax later.

I feel really good, though I'm tired in the morning, have insomnia, and flare if I overdo it. I can do things like play racquetball, it's just if I am on the go all day long every day, I will be fatigued and my knee will start to hurt. Most of my symptoms can also be explained by adrenal fatigue at this point.

I'm curious.....how do most people know how long they've been infected if they never saw a rash? Does one start to calculate by how long sick?

This disease is so weird. For example, I was bitten 11 years ago, had a rash even, but got no symptoms until 2.5 years ago! I remember going on a 10 day backpacking trip right after that bite....I even have a picture of the back of my leg because my friends were lauging at me itching the rash. But was not sick! No fever, no nothing....until 2.5 years ago started getting weird numbness in two fingers.

I think that is one reason so many people (including doctors) deny Lyme, because it would make sense that there would be an onset of symptoms immediately. But not the case with Lyme and co.

CD57 that is a good question.

I guesstimate that I have been infected for at least 4-5 years-maybe longer.

No positive tick bite and no rash.

However, the month I got pregnant with my second child,

The Ob thought I had West Nile. Too coincidental if you ask me.

Especially since I had no fever.

I've been treating for over one year.

Have done Lyme, babesia and bartonella therapy.

Continue to improve albiet slowly.

Am looking forward to the day of full remission.

Hugs,

Geneal

I was first infected in 1995. Six mths abx put me in remission.

Had things crop up over the next 10 yrs that could be attributed to lyme (but then practically every symptom under the sun can be attributed to lyme) but they didn't adversely affect my life.

Lyme arthritis set in 2005 and within 5 mths I was housebound and nearly bedridden.

#1 thing that began my turnaround was change of diet. Still the #1 thing that keeps me up and running. Eat right - no pain. Eat wrong - pain.

Was I infected but dormant for 10 yrs or reinfected in 2005? Could be both. I had a bad, really bad bout with a virus about 10 mths before symptoms began. I moved into a very old house 4 mths before symptoms began (I test high in lead toxicity). I was bit by hundreds of chiggers two months before symptoms began. I was in an extremely stressful job for 10 mths before symptoms began.

Take your pick of the cause/s. My LLMD says when you get this sick, it is never just one thing.

I have mostly treated holistically under the guidance of medical doctors.

I was rebit 5/07 and went on abx. I greatly improved before the abx and went into full remission once abx were added.

Diet continues to be the #1 important aspect of my treatment. No doubt, I have a damaged gut that is slooowly healing.

I do consider myself 99% healed. The 1% remaining will be resolved when I no longer need drugs(currently I am on Zithromax, Plaquenil and Nizoral -antifungal) and can eat pizza without my joints rebelling.

I tested positive for Babs WA-1, EBV, QFever, Tapeworm, Rheum. Arthritis.

CD57, with me, they thought I had lupus when I was 20 and I was sick for over a year and then that went away with oral abx I took for a whole year because of pneumonia!!!! So when I got sick again it was ALL those same symptoms PLUS more, clearly that was an earlier manifestation, so for me I go - at least from there!!! But I was reinfected with tick attachment & rash 8 years later-
