Hi everyone!

Quick question: Can the bart rash---streaks on belly ---come and go within 30 minutes?

Thanks,
Trails

Did you notice this after a warm bath or shower?

How do you tell the difference between a bart rash and stretch marks? I had marks on both of my breasts, but I was calling them stretch marks.

What's the difference?

Why yes I did melanie--how did you guess? It was not hives though...although I have been having those too. [Frown]

This was streaks vertically down my belly.

I tried my hardest to recall scratching myself, but could not. Then when I tried scratching a new streak mark into my belly, it lasted a shorter time than the streak marks that were there.

Is there a connection between peeing in the tub and vertical red marks?
[Big Grin]

Good to see you! [Wink]

Tailz---I never had the rash before so I cant say how you know, but this rash was not raised or indented, just red streaks. My stretch marks are intdented and white-ish.

trails!

I was reading this thinking I have a rash sometimes after a shower and then I read melanie's reply.

I thought mine was the water from the shower hitting me, but its not there after every shower. Only sometimes. I had it once recently that didnt involve a shower. odd.

Is this when the bart marks appear the most?

Well, the reason I asked is because I have also noticed that after a warn bath or shower, all of a sudden, I have many odd skin 'rashes' that were not noticeable before the heat.

Of course, I have to take deep breaths while I dry off as to not get too stressed over it...

because once I cool back off sufficiently...the 'rashes' again fade away!

Sooo, for me at least- many of my skin 'rashes' are brought out by intense heat; be it a bath, shower or too much time in the sun.

I have read of others experiencing the same thing, and you just confirmed it as well.

I also have the rashes that stick around no matter what the temp is, but many do seem to react to extremes in either heat or cold.

I am not sure what causes this manifestation exactly. I have read many theories, but nothing specific.

Love ya,
M

CAN"T! Good to see ya over here!

Melanie---Thanks for the explaination on your theory. I do find that after hot baths or showers I have rashes appear. I figured it was just my blood circulating more and coming to the surface of the skin more.

And of course, any actual hives I get become worse in hot water.

But this rash was very different and bothered me because it didnt fit my previous experience. The streaky part of it scared me. And I didnt take a shower---it was a bath---so I can totally see where one might think it was water hitting my body, but it wasnt. [Frown]

Oh well.

I have put in a call to my LLMD to find out if the Bart rash comes and goes in his experience. I have been treating a kidney infection with drugs that are sometimes used to treat Bart, so maybe they roused the BEAST.

Deep breaths---yes, lots of those.

Take care you two!

Just to clarify...

I don't mean to infer that heat CAUSES these rashes, only that it seems to bring them out. Personally, I believe it is a TBD thing that is right under the surface intensified by extreme temperatures.

Yes, the streaks are inescapably worrisome to me as well. I recently developed them too. And come to think of it- I did notice them for the first time right after a warm shower. BUT, they have stayed visible.

no need to clarify---at that point I was responding to can't's response mostly.

Still no word from my LLMD.

Has anyone heard if these rashes come and go or stay for a certain period of time?

If it was only you and me melanie, I'd say it was a Cali thing, maybe something blooming....but Cant is not on the west coast....
[Smile]

thanks again!
