HI,
I am experiencing difficulty with my right eye. I have like a shadow over it and the lid fills heavy, its like something is in the way and I can't see clearly.

Also, it feels sticky and stingy in the mornings, I thought it was due to being to dry in my house but I put the humidifier and it did not change.

Any idea what this is? Any of you experinced this? Does it go away or is this permamnent damage form lyme?

What did you do when you got this? I appreciate your help.

Thank you

Hi, I get blurriness in one of my eyes, vision problems are fairly common with LD. My tears can sting. Make sure to report this to your Lyme doctor as he may want you to have your eyes checked.

I use an artificial tears eye drops for my eyes.

Also, eye problems can be more urgent if problems arise while on Plaquenil.

Take care.

I had a "lump" on my upper eyelid that was not visible but I could feel it when I opened my left eye...like a heavy lid that you're describing.

It went away after I started Cholestyramine because I cannot rid my body of mold or biotoxins naturally. (see post by Sforsgren for more info).

I also think eye "stuff" has a lot to do with Bart. Have you been tested for that coinfection? A lot of we Bart people have dealt with swollen eyes and droops, along with dry eyes.

People said it got better with abx, accupuncture and various essential oils.

This too shall pass.

Best,

Thank you for your replays.

I am not on plaquenil. I am on amoxycillin 6000mg/day

I do have a positive bestern blot from Igenex and I have been treating lyme since October. Not sure how much improvement I have, got better and then again went down. I thought it was herx but by the way I was told it was just the disease itself. My llmd still kept me on the same meds.

It is scary every time there is a new symptom showing up.

Do you think it could be the nerves connecting to the eyes that is causing this?

Thank you

Definitely. Unfortunately, like you said, while you're herxing new symptoms can surface weekly.

You just have to keep reminding yourself that it's just clearing out all of the "bad stuff" for lack of more accurate verbiage.

Taking tha abx is stirring everything up so the Lyme is punishing you with it's die-off effects. It's truly frustrating and scary but based on my personal experience (and others) it will pass as the treatment continues and is successful.

People have, literally, developed Bells Palsy while herxing (paralysis of 1/2 the face) and it goes away with treatment (abx).

It's a wax and wane type of treatment, herxing, die-off with weird symptoms, clearing. Then the cycle repeats itself.

So "try" not to get too anxious about every little change as it will, in hindsight, just be a blip on the screen of the healthy life ahead of you.

Easier said than done, I know!!

Hang in there and try your best to tap into your faith and keep reminding yourself that this is all "temporary".

Best.

I have a lot of eye problems as well. My LLMD told me to get similasan.

It is over the counter and I love this stuff. Seems infections of the eye are common with Lyme. This clears it right up for me!

Hostbody:

Which part of the eyee problem does it clear up? The eyeballs or the swollen lids/droopy "skin around the eyes problem?"

I'd love to know!

Thanks!!

clears up the eyeball problems. burning, itching, the feeling of grit in your eyes.

I don't have the other problem you described, so I wouldn't know. Sounds like that is more muscle/nerve related and this wouldn't help.

<----------------------------

As my name might suggest, I have eye problems with Lyme.

It gets better and worse. Wax and wane. Still waiting for it to completely go away!
