I have a question about the full extent of migraine symptoms.
Does a migraine include unbearable heat in the body before vomiting?
Then freezing cold sometimes with chills after vomiting???
And most often cyclic and brought on by drop in weather pressure and menstral cycle and stress?
Can I assume this, along with flashing white lights (which I know is a migraine symptom) is
Pure migraine?
I have not ever seen the symptoms of the burning heat before vomiting and then the freezing cold afterwards reported as part of a migraine thing
Although I suppose it is possible to be part of it.
Anyone have knowledge or experience with this????

i've had these symptoms with migraines, but i wonder if it could be babesia or bart too??
also, it could be a reaction to migraine med -- i had very bad reactions like that to ultram.
if you are allergic to codeine, you may be allergic to ultram as well.
what kind of migr meds do you take?

I don't take migraine meds anymore because they usually don't work, but I was taking zomig at one point.
So it can't be the meds.
I'm just curious if the heat and cold are part of the actual migraine or if they indicate something else.

I never felt heat prior to vomiting, but often had the chills afterwards.
Mine were brought on by a combination of stress and "that time of month".
I'm talking about my migraines in the past tense as they've evolved into something else in the past few years.
I don't get pure migraines anymore.
I now get tension headaches with all the light/sound senstivity and nausea (but less vomiting) of migraines.
Doc calls them "tension headaches with migraine symptomology".
Don't know if it's related to babs or bart, since I'm still waiting for test results to come back.
I did find that taking feverfew every day helped me to have fewer migraines.
Went from having one weekly to having one monthly or every other month.
Although, when I got one, it wasn't any less in intensity or duration.
Currently taking Fioricet when I absolutely HAVE to for the tension/migraine headaches. It helps take the edge off... sometimes.

Sorry you are having such vile and violent symptoms! Geeze!
It has been years since I've had what was diagnosed as migraines. And for me, the meds didn't work either.
I do not remember the hot feeling... nor the chills... like you get chills with fever and TBD's.
I remember being cold while having the headache but it was a good while into it.. but I wouldn't describe it as chills exactly. Just cool or cold while laying down.
Don't guess that helps.. but I tried.
Hope your problems are diagnosed and you are doing better soon.

Yes me too on the "migraine" diagnosis.
Mine have also evolved and are different than before.
But the burning heat in my entire body, I never am in any condition to see if it is a fever and it lasts several minutes, just unbearable and through vomiting. Then several minitues after vomiting, I am freezing cold and sometimes with chills.
It does not Always happen around my cycle but the onset does often happen with either physical or emotional or mental stress and weather pressure.
I just want to know if it is migrain or hormonal.
Or if it indeed indicates some active infection. Or something.

Jeez, I don't know how much of me I am anymore!
Can't seem to shake this disease.
Really.
I am not planning on visiting any further doctors and am considering dropping my current one.
I've been in treatment since I logged on to lymenet in 2005 and I'm still sick as a dog, and worse in some ways.
The mainstream have really got under my skin with opposition, I don't know what to believe.

Out of idle curiosity, does it seem like your digestive system goes wacky when you get these?
I'm not talking about just the nausea/vomiting. Sorry if this is TMI.
Found myself more than once sitting on the potty with a bowl under my chin because I wasn't sure which end to hang over the seat first.
It's also like my digestive system has stopped processing anything for at least 12 hours prior to the headache coming on. Visited by the ghost of the previous day's meals.
Trying to avoid being too graphic here. But anyway, do you get this too?

Recently I became very hypothyroid and I had very similar symptoms you are experiencing.
Until my doc increased my synthroid I had the worst headaches and my body temp would fluctuate. I would freeze and then wake up hot as heck.. These symptoms also increased around my period.

it does happen that way sometimes.
For a good while, my headaches decreased so I was relatively hopeful, I actually went 8 months without any vomiting episodes but now it's come back like a tidal wave.
I don't know what to make of it.

I do find that the day after these usually two day episodes,
I am very wobbly, dizzy, it's hard to make things out.
Kind of uncoordinated. Weak.

By any chance.....I had the stomach flu really bad this past summer.
This was prior to being diagnosed with NMH and POTs.
I got hot.....threw up.....froze afterwards.
My pressure was really, really low after being sick.
Have you checked your blood pressure lately?

Just off the wall chance... after reading more info from you...
Progestrone. Have you had your levels checked?
I am actually almost shaking to think how bad my headaches were that I had from not having basically any progestrone.
And if I went to the ob/gyn folks they would automatically push estrogen on me. That always made it much worse.
For years I had these nightmare headaches... and using the word nightmare is mild compared to what it was like. I am actually sitting her clentching my jaws thinking about the pain. Hard to forget.
Anyhow.. have you had your hormones checked?

I experience many of the symptoms you describe and more! (oh lucky me!), and for me they are some kind of atypical seizure.
It's apparently common for people with seizures to be drained afterward. I actually have a sudden overwhelming sensation to sleep while I'm on the pot and / or vomiting. I don't know whether this is also the case w/ migraines. Best to check with a neurologist, if you can actually find one.
My muscles also tense up and pain during these events. I have vertigo. Terrible burning pain. Sensitivty to light in my eyes and on my skin. Disorientation. What a party! Don't join me with the extra symptoms!!
The great news for me is a combination of anti-seizure meds are taking fantastic effect.

Hey Tin Cup,
The hormones all tested in range at the time.
Except the cortisol. In march it was significantly low.
Progesterone and all that were in tact.
My gyno says its all normal anyway.

Blood pressure is typically low, especially lower on the left side.
I have no faith in drs. anymore.
They can't or dont' find a thing.
The LLMD does, but the treatment is not working.
Feeling rather down about it all, so I can't think of a worse thing, although I am sure there are worse things.

Yes, I wonder if the atypical seizure has returned for me, which my LLMD diagnosed but the rest of them say I'm fine.
The insurance company says I'm fine.
The EEG showed nothing. (but that was done before my first seizure, by a neurologist out of business now, who had absolutely no clue, he sent me on my merry way and several months passed where my memory issues became intesely frightening and worse.
I'm at my wits end with this now.

I dont know what all the meds your on but if your on to many you may be having drug induced fevers ie chills.

Thanks for the idea.
Been off all meds since my last vomiting episode on Feb 14.
Plus had this occurring long before, like years, I was ever diagnosed.
I also thought it was meds which is why I stopped everything.
