I seriously don't have a single minute during the day when I feel any energy. Any herbs that have really helped people regain energy?
Has anyone had a bad Herx from starting Zith? A two week Herx?

B12 shots

Ditto B-12 shots.
Phosphatidylcholine (spelling?): one brand is called PhosChol
D-Ribose powder.
All 3 are helping my husband.

There may be some paradoxical reactions for some, but this would seem to make most people very groggy.
Contraindicated with use of some anti-fungals and in the presence of infection.
Tramadol is used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain.
. . . Tramadol is in a class of medications called opiate agonists. It works by changing the way the body senses pain.
. . . Tramadol can be habit-forming. . . Do not stop taking tramadol without talking to your doctor. Your doctor will probably decrease your dose gradually.
If you suddenly stop taking tramadol you may experience withdrawal symptoms such as nervousness; panic; sweating; difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep; runny nose, sneezing, or cough; numbness, pain, burning, or tingling in your hands or feet; hair standing on end; chills; nausea; uncontrollable shaking of a part of your body; diarrhea; or rarely, hallucinations (seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist).
What special precautions should I follow?
[many listed here - just a few expcerts from that:]
. . . tell your doctor and pharmacist what other prescription and nonprescription medications, . .
Be sure to mention any of the following: antifungal medications such as ketoconazole (Nizoral); . . . erythromycin (E.E.S., E-Mycin, Erythrocin . . . quinidine; rifampin
. . . tell your doctor if you have or have ever had seizures; **** an infection in your brain or spine ***
. . . . talk to your doctor about the safe use of alcohol while you are taking this medication. Alcohol can make the side effects from tramadol worse.
you should know that tramadol may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting when you get up from a lying position. To avoid this, get out of bed slowly, resting your feet on the floor for a few minutes before standing up.

Most of us would do anything to get some energy. However, after years of counterproductive measures and pre-lyme dx, I just got too wired from even caffeine for energy.
Gentle support of the endocrine and nervous system, and good sleep (if you can) are important.
Treepatrol and viva have good ideas. There are others in the B-vitamin category and the good fats such as fish or krill oil.
=======================================
THE BETTER BRAIN BOOK may offer some good answers.
at the bottom of this page, you can see a video of Dr. Perlmutter on an "Oprah" program. David Perlmutter, MD, FACN is a Board-Certified Neurologist and Fellow of the American College of Nutrition . . . Dr. Perlmutter was awarded the 2002 Linus Pauling Award for his pioneering work in innovative approaches to neurological disorders. . . .

You might also consider testing thyroid function.
Some herbs for adrenal support: cordyceps, ashwagandha, Siberian Ginseng (this is not regular ginseng and you should avoid regular ginseng as it can be too stimulating, thereby asking too much of your body.) Gotu Kola is another (not a cola).
Slow, complex carbs (bright colored veggies, non-gluten grains), protein and good fats in small meals, maybe five times a day can also help.
Lie down when you feel the need - and yoga, Tai Chi, or QiGong can be gentle ways to exercise, train balance and build endurance.
Fatigue is the body's way to ensure you don't overdo during times of illness. And remember that when the infection(s) is/are addressed you will feel better as that gets better. Along the way, just be in-check with what your body needs.
WHAT IT DOES: Siberian eleuthero (formerly called Siberian ginseng) is sweet and slightly pungent in taste, and neutral in action. It nourishes the adrenal glands, supports liver metabolism and increases energy and endurance against stress and pollution.
ASHWAGANDHA ROOT (Withania somnifera, Convolvulus species
WHAT IT DOES: Ashwagandha root is bitter in taste, warming in action, and a strong rasayana tonic for longevity. It calms and strengthens the nervous system (Vata); reduces stress; strengthens immunity and vitality; improves cognition and memory.
WHAT IT DOES: Cordyceps mushroom is sweet and bland in taste, and warming in action. It strengthens immunity and fortifies and heals the lungs, heart and kidneys. Used as a tonic for weakness in the elderly and to promote longevity.

Here's another vote for B-12 shots.
Magnesium Malate helps a bit, too.
Good nutrition, good sleep, good detox.
And all the above ideas, too.
If all else fails, I've used provigil, but try not to resort to that unless absolutely necessary.

NT Factor, available full strength only through a doctor.
Have your thyroid checked .... even if it's low normal it can cause significant fatigue.
Yes, I herxed on one medication for six weeks before I started feeling better. It's not uncommon to feel bad for a couple weeks .... means it's working! Focus on detoxing so you get those dead bugs out as quickly as possible.

I did use brain B12 (subling) and didnt help at all. No way I cannot afford B12 shots though. But in lariam tx for 3 days so...already seeing as the infection drops I feel less fatigue.

Rhodiola Rosea has been a miracle herb for me. For energy and also for mental clarity, and it is said to help repair nerve cell damage. It is not a stimulant; it improves production of energy on a cellular level.
When my fatigue is really bad, I put the rhodiola on my nightstand so I don't have to get up to get it in the morning (because I won't), and within a half hour of taking it I can launch myself out of bed and get my day going.
PLEASE! do some research before you take this. Everyone reacts differently and at different doses. You have to start low and work up to what works for you.
I highly recommend "The Rhodiola Revolution" by Richard P. Brown MD and Patrica L. Gerbarg MD. I would not experiment without reading this book. A relative of mine bought rhodiola and gave too high a starting dose to his wife -- even tho I said read the book first! -- and I forget her exact words, but it was something like, she was bouncing off the walls. Not a good experience.
One of the authors had intense fatigue from undiagnosed Lyme for many years and her husband, a psychopharmacologist, explored herbal medicine and upon putting her on Rhodiola she has had dramatic improvement. It's all in the book.
Good luck!

Coconut Oil will ramp up your metabolism if you use it occasionally. It is so easily absorbed and full of energy is why it has this effect.
If you take it every day your body will adapt to this effect over time.
I used one tablespoon a day.

Hello to all! This is my first reply, so I'm not sure how to do this. But, I also have NO energy at all!! I have used Provigil, and depending on just how sick I am at the time, it does help!! Be careful though, as it can be addivtive! I just ran out, and I'm panicing!! I use B12 shots also, but I'm afraid they don't help me at all! My heart goes out to you as I know how frustrating it is!!!

BTW, my fave brand of Rhodiola is Energy Kare, by Kare 'n Herbs. Comes in a little bright blue box.
In the book (mentioned above) they say certain brands are better than others because they don't all contain standardized levels of the herb. This is one of the recommended brands.

Take with the following: B-12 sublingual, L-Carnitine, CoQ10, and siberian eleuthero.
