Does anyone else here feel like they experience their emotions less fully since infection?

I often feel like I've had a partial lobotomy, like I just can't empathize with other people anymore.

Is this considered "normal" for Lyme patients?

Actually, my emotions have seemed very blunted since I got sick.

But the only thing I've really felt has been compassion.

Slowly, I've begun to physically heal, but emotionally, I still feel a little shut down. Maybe that's typical of most people with chronic, life-threatening illnesses...I don't know.

I just hope some of that fire comes back soon.

moosejive,

I got Lyme's only 10 months ago, and my emotional capacity has vanished and along with it, much of my cognitive abilities.

It's the worst part for me.

For me that was part of the "brain fog".

I existed in a dream like state. Almost robotic in nature.

Good news is that this improved a great deal for me on antibiotics.

I can appreciate my children and friends again.

Sometimes though, I get over loaded with this.

Hugs,

Geneal
