Fleas transmit LD..I am trying to find an article I had on it.

I never remember a tick bite, but I remember hundreds and I do mean hundreds of flea bites...I was into animal rescue.

And even after suffering all this agony (hell on earth) - I look in their faces and I can't regret saving them.

We had two major flea infestation after I brought home many cats and dogs. (Kept most too!)

I absolutely believe they played a roll in my getting LD.

Anyone adopting or bringing home pets should first put Frontline or Advantage on them before walking through the door with them.

Wow! There are lot's of animal rescuers here...

Prior to getting Lyme I was a vet tech and volunteered with a wildlife rescue organization for years.

I still save them too...I cannot walk away from an animal in need.

I actually saved a baby racoon yesterday.
It was the cutest thing I've ever seen, maybe a month old.

He was lying in the middle of the road crying like a little puppy. I have no clue how he got there, but no way could I leave him.

I had a bucket in my car and I scooped him up in that and drove him to the vet.

I felt good about doing it but I am much more cautious than I was before Lyme.

The woman behind the counter at the vet asked if I had touched it and I said no.

She told me good thing b/c they carry a microscopic worm that can get into your eyeball and grow!

That's the last thing I need - somebody would just have to go ahead and shoot me!

Thanks all. I've postponed the volunteer work in order to re think it. We'll see.

In the meantime, I'm taking some "preventative" antibiotics (happen to have zith) for 5 days.

I hadn't been treating w/abx. But with this, I want to knock it out in the event something is there.

I've read that especially in Tx, and if the area is rat infested, the chances of some serious disease are more likely.

I REALLY want to work with the dogs! And I still might, I just need to think about it a bit.

I've ALWAYS had pets. At one point I had 2 adopted bunnies (one with fleas and dust mites) and 2 dogs.

I cannot imagine a life without pets or dog kisses so I've been racking my brain to find a way to make this work for all involved.

Both dogs tested positive for Bart on Fry (they have no symptoms) but I just finished TREATING Bart (for me) and don't want to get it from their saliva (if that's even possible...which I think it is).

The dilemma: Even if I treat their Bart and any other parasites, they could so easily get reinfected without my knowing while they're out in the backyard or even sniffing/quick licks of things while on walks.

So, I'm now taking Mesosilver and it, supposedly, hits EVERYTHING, TBD's, parasites, yeast, protozoa (of course, not proven but what the hell really is anymore?)

I called Mesosilver (the company) today and asked if I could give it to my pets. The rep said he gave it to his dog for years and it helped him stay healthy and as the dog got older in years, he added in the Mesogold. He said that he never even used Heartgard because the Mesosilver killed the parasites.

So, short story LONG, my methodical line of thinking is, if we're ALL on Mesosilver as killing and maintenance, then perhaps there will be no passing around?

Does this sound like a plan or am I completely insane?

Any other ideas are welcomed but puuuuleeeasse do not diss Mesosilver,in general, because I've finally become "brave" enough to use it and it really seems to be helping keeping me healthy and energetic since being off abx 2 1/2 mos.

Dip them BEFORE bringing them into your house!!!!!!

I know of a fellow lyme sufferer who believes she got Lyme & Co from entering flea infested homes and apartments as a social worker.
