Hope I am not asking the obvious here?

I always read about shin and foot 'pain' in Bart. Pain is a VERY vague term. I know Bart can attack the bones, but does it also cause neurological sx's too?

It's clearly published that Lyme causes neuropathy, but is the same true for Bart?

Can Bartonella give neuropathic sx's in other areas? I do have this in shins, but usually far worse in calves...and it is NOT muscle pain, burning nerve pain [Frown]

Does anyone have references for this? Or perhaps personal experience with a clearly defined case of Bart AND Neuropathy. Better yet, what treatment has helped this IF caused by Bart?

Thanks for any help, MBB3

YES it is is more agreasive in combination with lyme...and probably that is why people that have them both suffer the most!

I'm being treated for both. I have horrible neuropathy in shins & feet.

Yes, I had burning neuropathy for years and I blame bart for most of it.

After 4 months of levaquin, the burning decreased significantly.

3 months of rifampin
2 months of levaquin
5 months of moxifloxacin
in combos with doxy/mino.

bart positive, but neuropathy(burning, stinging) still here - now covering more area but less in intensity. Twitching has subsided quite a bit though.
