This is my third day on Doxy. The doctor is starting me at a half dose and will raise me to the full dose next week then start omnicef.

I am noticing that my word searching and brain fog is getting worse. Has that happened to anyone else? What is your explanation for it?

I had to STOP doxy after this happened to me. But my other symptoms were pressure in the head, swelling above my eyes, feeling like I had to *clear* my ears all the time and severe dizziness.

They were side effects and not a herx. Dose was too low for me.

I had been previously on iv doxy at 300 mg and experienced this also but worse on the orals.

What it was for me was intracranial pressure. It can be a severe side effect for some.

Make sure you check it out if it gets much worse or if any of the other symptoms that I listed appear.

Doxy was wonderful for me. It cleared my brain fog in about 10 days. I was on 200 mg BID. Anything less, and I would relapse.

We're all different.

One possibility is that you are having fungal issues. Fungal is the no. 1 cause of memory and cognitive stuff for me. Once I treated this with Diflucan and Sporanox, it got tons better!

Another thing to consider is Pseudotumor Cerebri. It can be caused by Doxy and Mino. The symptoms are extreme spinal fluid pressure build up, with severe head and neck pain, eye pain, and ear pain.

In my case, I hung in there for 2 weeks, and all of that went away and I feel great.

I wish you all the very very best!!!
