Has anyone tried Tinidazole? I am trying to find information on treatment duration and how well it worked. Should it be combined with any other medications? Any bad side effects to be aware of? Any shared experiences with this drug will be appreciated. Thanks!

the RX name is Tinidamax. Considered at cyst buster too. I took it w/Biaxan and Bactrim...don't think it is a stand alone abx but it may be.

I took it for a year with Ceftin and Biaxin in place of Flagyl.

I had no problems with it, and it was easy to tolerate for me.

I am taking it at 2 x 500mg per day, for one week every fourth week.
With all the other meds too of course, and they are Rifampicin, Omeprazole, N- acetyly Cystein and Azithromycin. And Ivermectin. Quite a cocktail but so far no bad problems. It's the beginning of the 8th week now.

I tried Flagyl for a few days, about 18 months ago and it was very toxic plus it gave me a terrible herxy fever and shaking and clonic jerks of the muscles, on I think it was the third day. It was so bad that I dreaded taking the Tini in case that would have a similar effect. Luckily there hasn't been any noticable reaction - but does that mean it's not doing anything?

Best wishes,
Andromeda

My teenage son takes Tindamax 3 days per week. When he does, it causes an increase in pain. It's a cyst-buster so it must obviously be working!

He also takes Rifampin, Doryx (a gentler form of Doxycycline) and Plaquenil on a daily basis.

If your insurance does not cover it get it from a compounding pharmacy for a much better price as Tidazole.
