The "bullseye rash" is one of the best indicators for lyme that there is, and yes,it means you have lyme, just about for sure, and absolutely for sure, if it appears around a known tick bite! There are pictures posted somewhere on the lymenet pages.; there is actually quite a variety of appearances. Some lyme rashes may not be quite as clearly "bullseye rashes", but if you were in an area where there are ticks, you'd do well to start those antibiotics asap, from what I've seen! Just wanted to be sure the bulls eye rash meant it is an actual infection for sure
And not just that you for sure got bit by a tick
But might not have been an infected tick.

It is diagnostic for Lyme.
Have your friend get photos now, and a clinical confirmation by a physician for their records...it will be needed later on.

I am hearing that it is possible that a person who has just gotten bit by a tick can have a bulls eye at the site of the bite, but that could be an allergic or immune reaction, NOT lyme itself.
Also that an actual bulls eye may show up later in an entirely different area of the body.
Does anyone know the percentage of people who actually do NOT get a bulls eye? (scientifically speaking)

It has been told that apx 60% of people get the Bulls Eye Rash. The problem is that many people are asymptamatic and dont seek treatment from just the rash. Then later--- WHAM there really sick and don't connect the dots.
The rash IS AN INFECTION of the bite site. That's why it is red, hot, raised and may itch.
If people get multiple rashes or in different places they most often got bit multiple times.
Ticks that carry Lyme also carry several other infectious pathogens; like Babesia, bartonolla, RMSF, and others.
If you or a friend has a bull's eye rash I would go see your doctor and get tested for Lyme and co-infections.
Just because you don't feel sick now does not mean that you will not become ill later.
