Tampa News Lyme Story!!

I had been trying for over a year to get the local news stations in Tampa Florida to do a story on Lyme.

With the help of my aunt, and her boyfriend asking her to marry her in a unusual and romantic way, I finally got my chance to make a difference in Tampa.

I love the way the reporter covered the story. There is a good balance between prevention, early stage lyme information and late stage lyme information. I am so pleased with what he did.

He was so excited to do the story and I think really helped us here in the Tampa Bay Area.

Tell me what you think. And I was wondering, does anyone know of a doctor or center in Sarisota Florida who does testing specifically for Lyme Disease? When researching, the reporter found this place in sarisota, but I had not heard anything about it.

Anyway... enjoy!

Tampa News Lyme Story!!

thats me, by the way. I am skyler pursifull. [Smile]

Is there a written transcript? My computer couldn't open the video for some reason.

I'd like to send it to my aunt - she lives in St. Petersburg. She's 85 & doesn't have a computer.

This is great! I keep emailing our local news stations as well. I have had a couple of reporters very interested and then oddly they back out.

Thanks for making a difference.

Betty,

I believe this is working off Windows Media player and I had to click on something at the top to actually let it have access to play.

I went back to see what it was, but since I've allowed it, it doesn't show up anymore... and sorry, lyme brain gives me a short memory. [Frown]

Skyler,

Again, great story. Thank you so much for sharing and help getting the word out.

Good job with the story.

And it's probably not much help, but I came across an article a few months ago (link for article) that references a lyme specialist in South Florida, though not by name of course. The article refers to her as being the only lyme specialist in South Florida although naturally I have no idea if this dr. is in Sarasota (which is in South Florida if I'm not mistaken) or not.

Very good - congrats! I wonder if they could keep showing it as a PSA. I hope you'll be feeling better.

WOOOO!!!!!!!!! HOOOOOO!!!!! Major accomplishmenmt ..... getting the word out there where there is no Lyme (yeah right).

Is the Doc in the story an LLMD or at least willing to treat according to ILADS? Florida needs a good lyme literate/ lyme friendly doc that is accessible.
