Hi all,

Has anyone been through this? Back in September I had what they thought was Ulnar entrapment at the left elbow. An EMG test revealed a trapped Ulnar nerve at the elbow. I had surgery to move the nerve and the surgeon said it was very swollen in there! Lots of inflammation. Sooooo, was it Lyme causing inflammation, hence causing the pinched nerve? The nerve goes through a tight area around the elbow so it wouldn't take much inflammation to cause the tingling in the hand.

Anyway...they moved the nerve and it fel better. However, this could have been a true entrapment or just moving the nerve away from the inflamed joint may have been enough to help the symptoms or just giving it more room to breathe so to speak?

Anyway, now months, months later after going through all this Lyme stuff.....the elbow hurts and seems puffy...so what good was the surgery?

And to top it off, today my elbow really hurst when moving the arm or flexing, extending...like a nerve is getting caught somewhere during the movement...right in the middle of flaxing or extending I feel this painful pinching feeling. What is going on? I can't take it any longer.

Anyone else have this before????

Rich

Dont know but my right elbow has puffed up the size of a golfball several times in the past 3 years. X rays showed nothing, then I got Dx with Lyme later.

No problems since treatment.

Your assessment seem reasonable to me.

Does it make sense it could be worse when I move the elbow into certain positions?

Could the nerve from the ulnar entrapment surgery have slipped back?????? I feel something tripping over bone. Should I go see the surgeon again? Can they be that stupid as to not have precautions against this?

I am starting to wonder if my Ulnar entrapment surgery was a failure? The surgery was last October. I have had on and off puffiness and tenderness in that elbow since surgery. The other day while working out, I started having this sharp pain right in the area of the elbow where the surgery took place, basically where the Ulnar nerve runs. Now, my elbow hurts at that spot when I flex or extend the arm. The pain is felt when the elbow is at a half way point or a 45 degree angle and feels like the nerve or something is hitting a bone or something. Hard to explain but that is how it feels ever since the other day.

I feel the nerve right on the edge of the elbow.

I am going to set an appointment with the surgeon but I am afraid they won't listen or believe this...
