Today I got a message on my machine from our LLMD. "You're son did test positive for lymes".

My question may seem kind of strange, is this good news or not? Of course it is bad that he has lymes, but I kind of feel validated and like people can stop looking at me as if I'm just coming up with his symptoms. He is a bit speech delayed so I do some translating for him.

He's in his second month of treatment since being bitten and developing the EM rash recently. I'm wondering if this will help with insurance coverage or not?

Also, I'm concerned that even since adding his another abx to his treatment, he has still developed a couple new symptoms this week. [Frown]

I really liked it better before I knew about this horrible disease, and am now wondering if another one of my children may be affected. [Frown]

If it's any consolation, it is much better to get that positive result because some people have to suffer without it.

If you ignore Lyme, it will not go away. I've tried. In short, try to get the best LLMD you can and face it head on with good meds.

New symptoms after initiation of meds may be herx reactions which are normal.

Keep the head up...at least with the positive diagnosis you know (sort of) what you're fighting....

Thank you LOS. I'm trying.

Betty, I may have added the "s" not the doctor. Sorry.

Yes, I did go to LLMD off the list. I wasn't actually able to "see" the LLMD since s/he wasn't taking new patients but I saw the NP (closest I could get) who consulted with the LLMD after seeing us.

The LLMD is the one who called me back with the results, and said to make the fu visit in a couple weeks on a day they were there to consult again.

I have the results in hand now, and the IGM was positive on the 39 and 41.
