Need help.... I am not sure if flagyl only makes triglycerides LOOK higher on bloodwork, or if it actually INCREASES the amount of triglycerides in your body.

Anybody know? I am not looking to cure my lyme and then die of a heart attack right afterwards...

Well, it gives us a laugh. You must REALLY want to know what to eat today!

Sorry I can't answer specific to flagyl, but I've had MDs and NDs alike tell me that anytime the liver is overtaxed, that triglycerides AND cholesterol can increase and that when the liver gets stronger, better, less taxed, that it will normal.

If you eat healthfully and you take liver support, such as milk thistle, it should normalize when you are able to decrease meds and the infections have been tackled.

I read recently that supplementing with a good grade of fish oil actually helps decrease the level of undesirable fats.

My tri's are through the roof on Diflucan. I have yet to get a straight answer from the Cardio doc or the LLMD if it is truly affecting my heart or if it is just a "show on the blood work".

I'll keep looking for answers. If you find any, let me know as I am getting alittle freaked out about my levels.
