TKO Orange as a Tick Repellent?

Posted by pamoisondelune (Member # 11846) on :

Yes, a person on the Buhner forum adds a little TKO orange to water and sprays it on her clothes, her pets, and inside her house, and all ticks disappeared.

CORRECTION, ERROR: The person who sprayed TKO orange warns not to spray it on cats. She adds a little to water and sprays, but not on cats.

The person who sprayed her clothes, her pets, and the inside house was spraying GSE (grapefruit seed extract), not TKO Orange.

Pamois' correction-error post is correct. The NH woman who reported the grapefruit seed extract spray use also sprayed it in her yard and said no more ticks.

TKO Orange kills bugs on impact and keeps them away. It's biodegradable, so you'd have to apply it I think like every 24 hours. I put a couple drops of the concentrate in a spray bottle, fill it up with water and spray my clothing, not skin. You can also get the more dilute form, called Orange Guard.

A woman I spoke with said she rubs it in her dog's fur. Not for cats.

It's also a great cleaner.
