After reading lots of old posts on Flagyl and Tindamax, I'm still confused.
Some are on it every day for more than a year ... some are on it for two to four days per month ... some are on for two weeks and then off for two weeks.
I didn't notice any posts of people taking Nystatin with it to prevent Candida infections.
Who has had success with Tindamax? What has been the best treatment approach?

I pulsed tindamax for 3 mos. with Doxy. I took it 3 days per week. It didn't seem to help too much. Flagyl is stronger I believe but also can cause more serious liver sides....

Hi Horseu. I took 100tabs of flagyl 250mg three times a day.
A few months later tindamax was prescribed 45 tabs - 500mg 1/2 tab three times a day.
Had a horrible time with the tindamax and got elevated liver enzymes. Took it for maybe a week.
Had no problem with the flagyl. In June made one years with oral antibiotics for me now on IV antibiotics.
I take nystatin tabs four times a day with all meds.
Currently I'm on Rocephin 2 gms a day IV, Heparin 7,000 units, nystatin tabs, probiotics. Just started questran for detox.
I also have to take cortisol and florinef for dead adrenal glands, growth hormone for a pituitary problem, atenolol for irregular/fast heartrate, lexapro for depression, calcium/vit D for osteoporosis then a few supplements.
There is no standard treatment protocol. What works for some doesn't for others. I'm still not doing much better than when I started.

I took Tindimax 500mg 3X day for months...never a problem w/liver...guess my body tolerated it
Took it along with Biaxan & Bactrim 2X day

Tried Flagyl 250mg 2X day- 1 pill made me way sick!!!
Switched to Tindamax 250 mg. 2X day Week 4 and doing OK
Herxed the 1st 2 weeks, but headaches got much better and are still improving!!!!
Take w/ iv doxy 400 mg daily, Nystatin 4X day Was taking iv Rifampin 600 mg., but had to stop this week because of side effects.
Take many supplements and other things too many to list.
Amazing how different everyone reacts to the drugs- glad I don't have to be a LLMD and try to figure it out for everyone!

I started with Flagyl (with Dr. H.) but had severe stomach problems, was switched over to Tindamax and that was easier to take.
Adding the Tindamax made an incredible difference for me: I felt so much better on it. I ended up taking Doxy and Tindamax: that was the best combo for me and they both cross to the brain.
I was supposed to take the Tinda 3 times a day, 3 days a week, but because of my sensitive stomach I took in only twice a day. I also wanted to save lunchtime as the time when I could take my vitamins-minerals: it gets crazy trying to juggle ABX and probiotics and supplements!Taking ABX with breakfast and supper gave me the rest of the day to worry about the other pills I needed to take.
I was supposed to take Tinda 3 days in a row per week, but because of the fatigue I had from it, LLMD had me take it on alternate days (i.e. Monday-Wed.-Fri.)and that worked better for me.
I never had a liver problem, no matter what combo Dr. H. threw at me.
