Hi all,

I pretty much have no lyme symptoms at all when I am able to get out in the sun. Does anyone else feel this way?

It is as though my body craves sunlight. I live in NJ and went to Florida for a week in early April and had no symptoms. All the days I am able to go out in our boat, etc. I feel great.

Maybe I have a vitamin D deficiency? hmmmmmm.....

I think I would tank if I were to ever try the Marshall protocol.

Just looking for some thoughts. I never did have my vitamin d levels tested. not sure what tests to ask for concerning this.

thanks!

I agree,

I feel much better in warm, sunny places. I just started taking Vit D3. My test results were low in Vit D. But after reading newby info by treepatrol I am not sure the testing was done correctly. Anyway, the vit D isn't making me feel worse.

I bought a Dr. Mercola tanning bed so I could feel good throughout the winter, too. [Smile]

I never, ever thought I would fake bake .... but he has addressed some of my concerns (EMF's) and I get the real sun when it's available. I also don't use it for great lengths of time, so I never have a really dark tan.

But for the past few months, I've been outside getting the real thing.

You are fortunate, when I first started treatment, the sun would make me feel worse instead of better.

The sun makes my husband worse but I think it's some type of secondary porphyria reaction.

The sun used to make my daughter feel better. She fake and baked once a week in the winter and she always felt better for a few days.

Then something changed and now she is heat sensitive, her already bad headaches get horrible when out in the sun. Go figure.

This is the strangest disease there is. The way it changes all the time.

HUGS,

Maureen,

YES! I feel so much better in the sun. I also notice that when we go out on our frind's boat, I feel good the entire time.

Or when I'm inside my house all day and I feel out of it, if I go lay in my hammock outside in the sun...I suddenly feel better.

It's been this way since I got sick four years ago. When I was at my worst, sitting in the sun was pretty much the only thing that helped.

I often wonder why this is. I really have no idea what would be the cause. The vit D thing sounds like a good suggestion though.

I'm very interested in hearing more comments.

Mary

I feel SO SO SO much better in the sun. It makes a huge difference for me.

Earlier in my illness, I had more of the porphyria-type reaction people are talking about -- light would often make me feel sick and my circadian rhythms totally reversed so I was rarely awake in daylight.

But now, I am craving sun like nobody's business. When it is sunny, I spend all day lying in the sun. I get much worse when it is cold, damp, or overcast.

I too am much better in the summer sun, than in the winter months.

I crash on the on the dark, rainy days though.

In the hot sun I get extreme brain fog. I guess it's different for everyone.

Is it possible that sunlight is palliative? Or suppresses the effects of intracellular bugs?

This is the stuff that many debates are made of...search for the Marshall Protocol and you will find all kinds of good stuff on this subject!

I am an MPer in the final phases and doing great. Went hiking and biking today. No, I am not a fanatic -- I believe in the best remedy for YOU.

But I am grateful to Marshall and all of you who supported me through some tough times.

I used to get very exhausted if I was out in the sun--would need to sleep for about as much time afterwards as I was in the sunlight.

I've been wearing the NoIR sunglasses from the Marshall Protocol for about two years, and do find that I have less mental symptoms and less brain fog.

I'm still treating for Babesia, then we'll see which direction will work the best for me.

Best,

Cass A
