Gotu Kola worked better than Gingko for me -- but we're all different.
Gotu kola is known to enhance brain and peripheral circulation.

The standard joke about ginko is that it's suppose to help with memory but people keep forgetting to take it.
I did try it for awhile before I knew my problem was actually lyme. I didn't feel it did much, BUT considering I wasn't treating lyme, nothing would have helped.
I haven't been on it since the lyme treatment, so hopefully others will be able to help you out on this one.

Yes, Gotu Kola works far better for me than Gingko.
Gingko is far too stimulating for my tired and fried adrenal system. It just wires me like a light bulb and further triggers startles. But, I am VERY sensitive to many things.
Gotu Kola is not a cola but can help reduce brain fog and increase alertness without agitation - it even helps subdue startles. It also helps take poisons out of the blood stream. AND, as mentioned above, it helps with circulation.
I've a lot of articles in my computer files if you want some.

Here's a reference: ecam.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/reprint/nem138v1.pdf
Aristo Vojdani, Frank Hebroni, Yaniv Raphael, Jonathan Erde, and Bernard Raxlen Novel Diagnosis of Lyme Disease: Potential for CAM Intervention Evid. Based Complement. Altern. Med., Advance Access published on October 15, 2007; doi: doi:10.1093/ecam/nem138
CAM means complementary and Alternative Medicine.
This article by at least one well-known lyme doctor shows where some antioxidants such as ginko can help:
