Hi Everyone,

I'm confused, some people say that yogurt is okay on a candida diet, and others say that it should be definitely eliminated. What's your opinion?

Thank you.

I think it is unsweetened yogurt, those that contain active cultures and NO SUGAR.

You can get a thousand times more friendly bacteria by taking a good probiotic(acidophilus) with a mix of strains. The higher number of strains the better for your digestive track and control of yeast.

Of course if you like plain yogurt with no sugar, that is another story. [Wink]

unsweetened yogurt is GOOD.

I've never been able to get away with eating very much yogurt while on abx. I get yeast every time.

Read the labels. The only ones with low sugar [less than 5 g] contain artificial sweeteners, which is not good for you either.

If you can do without the yogurt, I would.

Even plain unsweetened contains 16 grams of sugar. Too much if you ask me.

Thank you all for your opinions. I think I will stay away from yogurt as mine has 9g of sugar per serving.

What brand of probiotic is best to take?

I was advised that yoghurt, it being a milk product, feeds candida.

Thank you Lymetoo, for your recommendation of Theralac. What do you like the most about this brand of probiotic versus others?

Thank you for your response herbalfrog. Did you hear about this from an llmd or some other source?

I'm confused because in his treatment guidelines Dr. B. talks about eating yogurt daily.

My problem is I am running out of convenient food to eat on this diet, that does not require cooking.

Thanks for your help.

I took PB8 for years and when I bought Theralac I could REALLY tell the difference. Big time.

Most anti-yeast diets say to avoid dairy. It's pretty standard.

Lyme,

I know you really love this product, but
I was looking at their website and it looks good, but it doesnt say anything about yeast.

It says:
Theralac probiotic supplements reduce bloating, gas, heartburn, poor digestion, constipation and diarrhea, safely and effectively.

Maybe they can't "make claims." I dunno. I just know it works.

Do a search here for more discussion on it.
