nice! Was that on one of the local northern California stations?

The link is on the main Fox News site, not an affilate, so I think it aired on Fox News itself, I think yesterday perhaps?

Be sure to rate it after watching it, hopefully they will air it again.

I don't recognize the reporter....it may be a local station ... but the backdrop looks national...??????

Great that Congress saw the film!!

Thanks for this link.

That is the first news report that I've seen that did not end with a quote by IDSA - or otherwise discounting what the patients say, especially in the last few sound bytes.

Good job.

The film's director has a perfect vocal tone and demeanor. Good interviews; good clips; good editing; good mix of people. Very poignant.

Yes, this was shown on the national Fox News channel.

Actually members of Congress and their aides saw a clip out together by Andy Wilson just for the event. which was coordinated by NatCapLyme, a DC area support group.

As a result of national pleas enough money was raised to put a copy if Under Our Skin and Cure Unknown in the hands of each member of Congress!

This is the beginning of something big. I can feel it!

Lymednva, I can feel it too - change is in the air, very exciting!

Everyone be sure to rate the news clip, I think if it gets enough views and a high enough rating, it will get to their "most viewed" video section on the main page.

I've not had the emotional strength to view this yet (I hate to break my record for not crying). But I finally just ordered it. I'll set up something nice for diversion afterward.

The professionalism that I've seen in the film clips is very impressive.

Here's the link for more information and to obtain a DVD of film itself:

``Under Our Skin'' by Open Eye Pictures

http://www.underourskin.com/store.html - to order

Including shipping, for personal use, it's $40.95 - with other options for group viewing.

I'll get few strong mailing envelopes and send it to family - with a set of prepared envelopes so each sibling can put it right in the mail to the next and then one addressed back to myself.

Faux News ... who woulda thunk it?

I thought the story was extremely well done and am amazed at how supportive it was.

This isn't the first time Fox has reported on lyme issues. Last month they interviewed the author of Lab257 and Blumenthal about Plum Island.

Keebler....crying is good for you and it's a great film!! You'll love it!

Did anyone else have problems getting the video to play?

Since I am bedridden I see a lot of cable news as hubby usually has it on. I recognize the reporter. He is a national fox correspondent, Douglas Kennedy.

It would be great if many of us could contact him to commend (encourage) him about the story and continuing coverage. I can tell you he can be very tenacious when he gets interested in a story. As a Kennedy (if part of "the" Kennedy family) he is likely connected somewhere so this could be a very important connection.

Anyone know a way to get email addresses for national Fox news correspondents? Maybe also copy managing editor Brit Hume and Dennis Wilson Bureau Chief. Just not sure where we send it.

It is interesting that I found a link about another story he did back in Jan 08. It was about antidepressants. The person he interviewed happened to be a Lyme Disease patient who was put on antidepressants and had problems. My guess is that he learned about a lot more than antidepressants in doing that story??

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,323768,00.html

DOUGLAS KENNEDY, FOX CORRESPONDENT: Yes, thanks, Heather. What this study confirms is what we have been reporting for years, namely that anti-depressants often do not do what they promise and are, in fact, causing harm to many.

KENNEDY (voice-over): When Lynn Michaels was 37-years-old, she contracted Lyme disease. She said she chose to go on an anti-depressant because she wanted for feel better and the drugs had gotten so much good publicity both in the media and in their commercials.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Talk to your doctor about Zoloft.

KENNEDY (on camera): What had you heard about anti-depressants?

LYNN MICHAELS, TAPERSAFELY.ORG: Well, at the time, they were non- habit forming drugs. There was no risk of addiction, and I could try Paxil, this new miracle drug and I could see if I liked it, and if not, I could get off of it.

KENNEDY (voice-over): But she couldn't get off, even after the drug had stopped working.

MICHAELS: I went into complete and total despair. I was unable to think straight. I was unable to sleep. I was in total panic.

KENNEDY (on camera): And you spent years trying to wean yourself off?.....(rest of story related only to antidepressants, no further lyme references, on link above)

I cried when I watched the trailer. I'm going to see the real thing in a month so I will probably completely embarrass myself. Must remember to bring tissues.

There have been so many LOCAL news reports like this, but to see that it hit something Nationwide gives it even more impact.

Thanks for the link. It was very well done and as another said, good to not see it ended with something IDSA says to try to discredit the report.

Good find!
