We're not positively sure my husband has lyme, but our environmental 'lyme friendly' doc believes he does (as do we) due to some of his liver function tests, his high ANA, his low CD57, among other things. And we've done many other testing for viruses, etc., that could cause the liver function and ANA to rise, and those tests have all been negative.

He's been on Rifampin for a couple months.
The other day he told me that he was having some weird burning senstations on his leg, on the skin right below his knee. Felt kind of like it was on fire. I know that's a common lyme symptom, or at least one of them... as I have it once in a while myself.

Anyway, this morning he woke me up after he had showered and wanted me to look at what developed on his leg right where the burning had previously been. It's not a bulls-eye, but it's kind of odd. It kind of looks like a bruise, but doesn't hurt, and I think it's too much of a coincidence to be a bruise since it appeared soon after he had the burning in that same exact spot.

I'd like any input/thoughts you can give!!!

I get "bruises" like that all the time, now! Mine hurt just like bruises, though. They als feel like like there's an infected node underneath. Sort of lumpy when you press them.

I suspect it's bartonella but I tested negative (not that it means anything.)

I have had similar things in the past .
I have a feeling it may be a parasite dying . Has he had any other thing happen like his temp go up or achey?
Or shooting pains?

I also got while on mepron and some abxs before petechiae or tiny red dots on lower legs starting at ankle?

treepatrol - yes, he does sometimes have a low grade fever. Though that was happening even before he started on antibiotics. I think it's better now -- not as elevated temps.

I know I have treated just about for everything over the years and was recently bitten again but Iam waiting for the tick results I got all 5 tests down on tick. $65.00 a pop or 5 x $65.00 = $325.00.
I did however get on abxs within 4 days this time .
So far after the mepron and minocin for 3 months and rifampin and mepron I was doing good for almost 9 months then bitten again.
Maybe husband might want to try minocin, biaxin xl rifampin combo one at a time with mepron?

Also keep in mind I treated this last time 16 straight months just to be sure all my cells had been replaced in my body ie nowhere for the buggers to hide.

Treepatrol... I believe that mepron is not to be used with rifampin, nor with minocin.
