Kinda of an update from last post...bit better but...

legs still are not right [bonk]
Keep in mind these are all new symptoms since going off iv for 5 months -4 weeks ago

LLMD says it is the Lyme & Bart trying to take over after change of iv treatment

As the day goes on,legs and feet get literally red hot, some swelling and pain and heavy feeling.

Currently taking daily oral doxy 400 mg
Cefdinir 600 mg
Plaquinil 400 mg
Fluconazole 200 mg
and many other sups and added prescriptions, sauna daily and doing everything else LLMD is asking.
---other newer symptoms: sore throat, lymph swelling, headaches, and not hungry...

so now what? do I need iv again? am I on a good plan? any suggestions taken...

wantabe,

still sounds like a blood clot ... red/HOT/swelling! brings painful memories back to me.

did they give you an ultrasound checking out from groin area to feet??

best wishes and STAY IN CHARGE and on top of things! [group hug] [kiss]

I'm with Betty on this one.

Better to get it checked out, rather than to run the risk of something really serious happening.

Not that TBDs aren't serious, but a blood clot in a vital organ would certainly ruin your day a lot quicker.

Tell your doc you want an ultrasound of your legs. Demand it if you have to. If he won't write the script, get to the ER.

Once the possibility of a DVT has been eliminated, *then* you can start thinking about further TBD treatments.

This is nothing to ignore. Really.

Please keep us posted on this. We're worried about you.

I'll call my regular doc this morning-promise
I can't keep teaching like this!

-school nurse has ruled out dvt clinically as well- say it looks/acts like an infection & agrees w/ LLMD
about it being Lyme rearing up

-woke up with VERY sore throat and runny nose: haven't had a cold for years!

will get ultrasound set up today...sigh

THANKS for your replies

Made appointment on Friday w/ family doc to check for DVT

He has contact w/ LLMD and I could get in to see him faster.

LLMD will phone consult w/ me after.

If not DVT what else would be causing this?
School Nurse says it looks like leg area is infected (w/lyme)and fighting like mad- Hot and red.

Any ideas on medication changes? or am I going to have to go back on iv? Just wondering if you have any ideas and again thankss for your help.

family doc said no to dvt. Agrees with LLMD about Lyme infection/ inflamation response to change of treatment.

He is very interested in Lyme and is learning fast.

He was very surprised how fast my symptoms returned after stopping iv.

Had a good visit, but no answers.

Will call LLMD on Monday to discuss options. I'm guessing I'll just have to tough it out until it gets better or hobbles me so much that I have to go back on ivs...

Is there anyone out there that can't go off their iv?
