Has anyone taken AI#3? Do you feel it was beneficial? If so, how did it help?

Thanks!

Hey there Sam-I-Am!

Is this the Zang 'Herx' formula? If so, my doc had me try this out awhile ago when I was really doing poorly.

It really did not help me at the time, but that may just be because I was already leaning too far to the toxic side.

Sorry, I know that isn't much help. How are things going otherwise?

Hi Melanie! Thanks for your reply. How are you doing?

Yes, this is the Zhang formula. I may be trying it soon.

As everyone here can attest, the road of Lyme et al is fraught with seemingly never-ending challenges. We have to just keep on keeping on.

It has corticosteroid properties and should only be used for intolerable Herxes or severe autoimmune problems, I believe.

I also know that you have to be very careful how long you take it. I hope you will be on ABX at the same time.

I took it a couple of times but only a couple of doses. That was enough to calm down the issues I was having at the time.

Thanks AliG. If I take it, it will be only for a short time under the supervision of my Lyme doctor.

I am glad it helped you some.

Glad to hear you have a LLMD and would be working with your doctor on this.

It may be very helpful to you, but I wonder what is it you want to achieve by adding this? Lessening of herx? That is the main purpose and, yes, it works.

Yes, I've taken it as part of two different paths described in the book below. Yes, I found it very helpful for short term use.

For those on other protocols, this may be fine, but it's best to check with your LLMD first to be sure it's not redundant or contraindicated.

You've probably seen the Singelton book. But, if not, it's very good. Singleton mentions some of the formulas in the Buhner book, but not at the same depth.

This book, by an ILADS member LLMD, holds great information about treatments options and support measures:

I read the book & referred to it often while using Dr. Zhang's herbs. I found it to be a very valuable resource. [Wink]

Hi Sam -

I am on my second day of Zhang's protocol. I saw Dr. Zhang last week and I am also taking Artemisiae, Circulation P, Allicin with the AI#3.

Started Bicillan shots three weeks ago and got very arthritic and achey. In two days of Zhang's herbs the first thing I noticed is that I have far less floaters in my eyes. I also have a bit more energy.

Granted, this is day two and I haven't herxed from the herbs yet... my herxing was from the Bicillan initially and also, I think, right after acupuncture. But the floater response is great if it lasts! Haven't cleared my eyes in three years!

Keeping my fingers crossed that this new protocol can make a difference.

Best to you,

wiserforit
