I came down sick in Oct 2001. Was dx in 2003 and started treatment.

I was too sick to work or do routine chores at the time.

From 2001 to 2007, I was very limited on what I could do to help my health due to lack of resources and help from insurance.

2008 has been better for me. I am assuming it is because I have had gifts from others for medical needs, supplements, xango, etc.

I have concluded it takes both alternative and abx to improve.

Just wondering how others feel about this. Especially those that were on abx only and then were able to add alternative and supplements ,etc.

I started on ABX in 2003. Was not able to purchase any supplements with the exception of probiotics.

It also took me awhile to learn I needed to eat a gluten free diet.

I did go on low sugar or no sugar food intake.

But, it took me awhile to learn that white rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, cheese etc made things worse.

Hi Kam

I'm of the belief that antibiotics alone will not get you well (if you've had TBD's left untreated for a long time).

I think the majority of Americans at this point have been exposed to Lyme. It's the coinfections, toxins, parasites and lifestyle that bring some people to a screeching halt. Lyme is just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Treating coinfections is key. I also think adding in alternatives such as supplements, essential oils, changing diet and lifestyle, and detox is key to recovery.

Bringing your body back in balance (mineral-wise, ph-wise, strengthening your immune system) and detoxing is how our bodies can learn to fight back this into 'remission'.

I was fortunate enough to have been able to add such a program to my treatment plan (to complement my antibiotic treatment) early on, which resulted in a much shorter time on abx and a quite successful outcome.

I'm still around, not because I'm sick anymore, but because this board led me to those that could help me. When I thank my LLMD for saving me, she says 'No, you did that. You did everything I asked you to do. You saved yourself'.

I still follow those guidelines, I just no longer take abx.

Here's to hoping you've also found your way to a successful path. [group hug]
