Oh great. A new feature of my bladder infection. Does it always mean the kidneys are involved, or what?

I called the Urgent Care doc and he said I needed to be re-evaluated if it continued or if I began running a fever.

I usually get sick at night.

Any idea what is going on??

Man, you are really having a rough time!! I don't have a clue whether the vomiting goes along with it.

Hopefully someone will be along soon who knows.

Wow, sorry that you have to go through this!! Could the antibiotic your taking be causing the upset stomach and vomiting. Was it Bactrim? My grand-daughter can't take it because it makes her vomit.

Take care!

It's weird. I almost vomited the first night BEFORE getting to the dr and getting on Bactrim.

I took Bactrim Monday a.m.....no problems. Took it one hour before the throwing up began on Monday night.

Tuesday a.m..... took Bactrim .. no problems.

Scared of this happening all over again tonight.

Sorry Miss Toots,

I also was thinking that meds could be the culprit. Didn't you take another med that first night before the doc visit?

Are you eating prior to the meds to buffer your tummy?

I took Keflex the first day .. about 9 pm?? Severe nausea hit me around 10:30 or 11.

I ALWAYS take abx with food. Always.

Thanks.....I just dread tonight. I'm going to take anti-nausea stuff ahead of time.

Lymetoo,

Ihave been ill the last 7 days and threw up most of them. Finally ended up in the ER dehydrated. After I first threw up the doc said I had a sinus infection and gave me omnicef which just made it worse.

So, it could just be a stomach bug, but the one that hit me has laid me out!!

Feel better soon. Hiker53

I'm sorry you've been ill, hiker! ICK! 7 days worth!

My situation doesn't seem to be related to any virus. I made it through last night with anti-nausea meds ahead of time! Beat the nausea to the punch!

I'm only slightly nauseous today. Seem to be past the worst. I think the infection was messingn with my kidneys.

Thanks all. [Cool]

Hey TuTu...

I've been out of town for the past two weeks and am just now getting back to Lymenet - my how I've missed everyone!!

I had a horrible bout with bladder infections about a year and a half ago. I could NOT get rid of it and I was on every antibiotic under the sun.

I was nauseated and threw up constantly and even was admitted to the ER twice for dehydration - even though I was drinking gallons of water a day. I think between the vomiting and the infection my body just couldn't hang on to any fluids at all.

So yes, bladder infections can and do cause nausea and vomiting as well as body aches and generally feeling like total crap.

I feel for you because they're not fun and you have so much on your plate already. As always, sending prayers your way!!

Hey Mrs. Lymetoo.

My children threw up every night with that stomach flu.

Mostly fine all day long.

About an hour about going to bed it would hit them bad.

Can you get some phenergin (sp?) suppositories?

Knock you out and the nausea.

Hugs,

Geneal

Geneal....wow..... but maybe it's as Lauren says?

Thanks Lauren for making me feel like it could "just" be the bladder infection.

I used a supp last night. Worked like a charm!

hope you are feeling better. was reading the posts and looks like this has been going on for few days.

if the infection does involve the kidneys as well you would definetly get the nausea, vomiting, back pain, etc.

if symptoms do not improve on abt. may be that you are not on correct abt for infection??

also, phenergan is avial. in a cream form that you just rub on and relief!! nice option from the pills or even suppositories. i know i have prob. with supp. even

tend to have upset on both ends at the same time so cream is a blessing.

double check abt. you are on if not improving, was culture done? should help you know if on correct rx.
best wishes

Tutu -

Blah! No fair! You're getting hit from all sides!

Sometimes meds and sickness combined make my sense of balance off and I puke. Don't even have to be dizzy. I just get sweaty and nauseous.

Also, the discomfort of the bladder stuff can make me nauseous too. Even without the bladder infection, if I have to pee bad I get nauseous.

Go figure.

I hope you feel much better fast!

Best,

wiserforit

Thanks, MY3...interesting about the cream!

Got a problem. I already have an appointment with my GP this afternoon, but I just found out that my urine culture was negative!!! [Eek!]

The doctor said it MIGHT be because I took that antibiotic the night before the test. Other than that, he said my dr may want to run other tests.

I have IC, but this pain was worse than I ever remember being in before with the IC. It was a 20 on a 1 to 10.

Well.... Lyme is so fun! [cussing]
