Can anyone give me any ideas as to what people are using for this?

I've done ART, Malarone, and Mepron just about killed me.

I used Cryptolepsis. Had to do 2 go rounds. So far it looks like its gone. This is the latest Buhner is suggesting for Babs. Check out planetthrive.com for info.Buhner answer's questions there and there is also info where to buy Crypto. Not everything works for everyone.

How long does one of these bottles of Cryptolepsis last for? I see they have 1 and 2 oz ones.

I am trying Dr. Zhang's Protocol.

Three weeks into it my old friend (not) air-hunger is kicking me in the slats!

Don't know long term what will happen, but I am definitely herxing!

Smell like garlic all the time, so I meet my friends at Italian and Chinese restaurants so that I blend with the food.... [Big Grin]

Best,

There's something being tested by my LLMD that's called Byron White's Herbal Formulas "A-bab" formula, I just heard a rumor (haven't talked to the LLMD in a while) that they're going to make it more widely available. I have a friend who's taking it and no antibiotics/Mepron, and he's supposedly getting a LOT better, though it's taken 4 months. he's serologically diagnosed with babesia and Lyme, and thinks he's a congenital Lymie, so it's a pretty serious infection he's probably working with.

I haven't been able to tell whether a-bab is doing much for me or not, because I'm also on Mepron/Biaxin so there's no way to separate the effects of the different meds.

According to a LL practitioner at the clinic that carries A-Babs and Byron's other formulas for lyme and cos they should all be available to the public soon with labels that disclose ingredients. I was told that this month.

I wish I knew what was in A-Bart now. I just had to stop taking it because my stomach is bothering me and I have no idea what is in it. I don't know if there might be some ingredient in it that could be irritating my stomach or not so I felt it was better to play it safe then sorry.

I am suppose to start A-babs next. If I notice anything when I do I will report back.

I bet there is a rizol you can buy for babs as well.

Maria how is your PG&E meter reader doing with their case of babs?

I wonder if you have an additional coinfection like ehrlichia or bartonella?

Atovaquone ('mepron';'malarone') is known to be effective for babs, though it is incredibly expensive. I think it is often paired with azithromycin. Did you take that, too?

How much artimesia did you take, and in what form?

I believe that many people find artimesia anua very effective for babs, and my experience confirms this. I did take atovaquone, too though. (as 'malarone') But I don't have a spleen, so I couldn't take any chances.. I really didn't have any trouble with the combination of 'malarone', artimesia, and garlic, though. (Oh, yes, I, too, also ate lots of raw garlic and believe that doing so very likely helped.). In some areas there are particularly nasty strains of babesia; keep that in mind- even with an intact spleen you might have trouble with these.

One other possibility- maybe your Lyme infection is still rampant. Lyme and babs, it seems, reinforce each other when you have both. Once I got rid of Babesia, I started improving. This made me think that I sould have attacked the babs sooner, but, considering your experience, maybe it was critical that the lyme was substantially reduced first.

I hope you make headway soon! When I was in the thick of it, I fought on every "front" I could. Some other stuff I did: grapefruit seed extract, oliveleaf extract, B supplements, I'm probably forgetting things, but, just, everything you can manage, and observe results.

The meter reader had an uneventful errand with the postal worker!

Sorry, everybody else, private joke.

Dosing for cryptolepsis anyone?

It's discussed in Buhner's book Healing Lyme. I can't remember it off the top of my head.

He also discusses it in the Planetthrive.com advice column. There are some threads about it in my herbal links signature below.

I'd start with a 2 oz tincture bottle and get another one if it seems to be helping or causing a reaction that you want, 4 oz lasts a long time. Of course, most babesia treatment horror stories seem to require months on end of treatment, so I don't know if I'm giving good advice here.

Buhner is starting to say that longer courses of treatment might be OK, but that they have never been studied in humans so we just don't know if there's a risk. Some patients seem to be treating longer than the courses he recommends, I just don't know.

Again, treat Lyme at the same time. They seem to reinforce each other.

I'm on mepron, bactrim and adding cryptolepsis per my LLMD all for babs.

The bactrim I was told, works on babs and bart. I have had no problems with it. I think it is helping.

Soon to be adding cryptolepsis, dosing should start out very slow as this can cause severe herx. I was told it is effective. A little unclear with dosing. I believe she said start with one drop and work your way up in a week to 10 drops per day. My naturopath is currently out of stock so I'm not sure where to purchase. Anyone know of a website?

Also, adding RizolMy for bart. There is also a Rizol for babs too. You can find on Rizol's on biopureus.com as part of Dr K's protocol.

That's good to know that LLMD's are now suggesting cryptolepsis. I bought my tincture last winter, but only tried it for a few days because I was starting abx. Your LLMD is starting you on it with abx, too?

I bought my tincture from Woodland Essence as suggested on the Planet Thrive site. I think I will want to revisit this.

Currently, I am in another relapse. It was coming on right before Christmas.

Cheryl Sue

I'm sorry you are in a relapse, I remember a thread where you said you were feeling great. Hope you start feeling well again soon.

Yes my LLMD is pretty aggressive. I'm on a boat load of stuff.

Taking the homeopathics along with abx is ok or he wouldn't have authorized/suggested this. I'm looking forward to incorporating the homeopathics in, as I hope they are an effective alternative.

Mandy,

How are you doing on the cyrptolepse? Any improvement? Bad herxing?

Good luck.

Cheryl Sue,
I did almost a full 8 oz bottle of cryptolepsis. It was a really rough herx but I felt better afterwards!

I took 1-1 1/2 tsp a day empty stomach. Its very strong. I think Buhner recommends 3 tsp a day.

I'm now upping my mepron dosage, adding clindamycin (this is helping although hard on the gut), primaquine (maybe), alinia.

Hope you are better.
