My unit arrived and I began my first treatment yesterday.

I did 15 minutes with mode A
and 10 minutes with mode B

I felt really good before starting(no neuro symptoms to speak of other than tinnitus)

My tinnitus is caused by the Lyme and I also get dizziness and mild vertigo that comes and goes ....I also have noise and light sensitivity.

I did have very bad neck pain for the last 5 days and very sore and tight trap muscles.

I felt nothing while sitting there doing the treatment.

FYI: the treatment is simply painless and is very easy to do.

Within a couple of hours of doing the treatment I felt a little bit dizzy and had a heavy pressure like feeling in my head. Not sure if that was related to the treatment or not, but perhaps so. I also noticed today that my neck was less painful. The traps are still very tight, but the neck pain is much less(again will have to wait and see if the lightworks is helping that).

I will update as I continue.

The literature that came with the unit really stresses the fact that it's very important to do the treatments for at least three weeks to see substantial benefits.

They also say to drink lots of water(of course with Lyme we need to detox as well).

Just thought I would keep a running journal of my progress or lack thereof.

Thanks, that would be great. I'm especially interested to hear how it affects the tinnititus; huge problem for hubby and I.

Someone has recommended a lightworks for us; would like to get one but very interested in following your progress.

Tracy,

I will keep updating this thread. I have heard great things about the lightworks and tinnitus and also neuro symptoms, arthritis(joint)symps, eye problems, healing problems etc...

I hope it works for me. Will let you know as things progress.

Elizabeth

ps Severe Tinnitus can be extremely annoying and painful. Mine is 24/7. Some days are worse than others as I am sure you and your hubby know.

Good luck.

I hope it works well for you. I am curious as to how much potential, if any, this treatment has.

Please keep posting. The more info we have, the more it helps all of us.

I know the has been a bit of a rift between people using the Bionic 880 & people using other devices. I hope this won't discourage people from using the LightWorks or reporting their outcomes.

Both the Bionic 880 & other devices have their pros & cons.

I believe that infrared light can be helpful but you do have to be very careful. Don't overdo it & proceed slowly.

Also, be especially careful if you are taking antibiotics.

I used the lightworks for 3 weeks in a row and really got a bad stomache for a long time--so be careful and go slow.

Hiker - I think the infrared light may be killing bacteria & your body has to dispose of it. It may be endotoxins.

I had intestinal issues after using the LW for about the same length of time. I used alot of charcoal & detox supplements.

Some people have mentioned that they only use if for a few seconds on various accupunture points or charkra points - sort of modeled after the Bionic 880 protocol... maybe adding nosodes.

It may affect people with Lyme differently than people using it for muscle aches who do not have Lyme.

This is why I say to be careful with it.

Third Day:

Okay, so I wake up this morning and my whole body is mildly achy. I run my morning errands and come back and am very blue and depressed, my tinnitus is worse and also my light and hearinig sensitivity. I feel like poopy.

I go back to bed for two more hours and am now awake. I eat a decent meal and I am drinking lots of water as I am very thirsty and still feel stinky.

My shoulder and elbow and stomach hurt too.(my shoulder and elbos do not usually hurt or ache)I do periodically get stomach pain. The stomach pain has been gone though lately.

This is the worse I have felt in awile. I donot think this is placebo affect. I do believe the lightworks is doing something in my body.

Yesterdays treatment consisted of 15 minutes on mode A and 15 nins. on mode B. For a total of 30 minutes.

I am going to detox with lots of water and lemon water w/ olive oil and also sauna and hot tub.

I feel crudy.

I have probably had the best couple weeks up to this point so if this is not a herx, I don't know what is. Basically all I am saying is that I believe this unit is doing something in my body. It's not as if I was sitting there thinking about the unit and I had symptoms or herxing. I woke up from a deep, restful sleep and felt really bad. That's why I don't believe it's placebo.

I think you have to use it for less time. You are going too fast. Maybe use it every other day instead of every day.

Take lots of detoxifiers like psylium, charcoal, chlorella or whatever you like best. It makes you very thirsty. I drank tons of iced green tea when I was using it.

From what I have read, the infrared light boosts ATP. It's helping your body to kick some spirochete butt. Just my opinion...

I'm not using the LW now since we are going to be moving 700 miles in about 10 days. I didn't want to risk a big herx right now. I think it's definitely worth experimenting with. Just be careful & go slow.

Marnie thinks magnesium is helpful to take prior to using the infrared light.

Thank you sparkle!

Yes, I was thinking today that I am going to cut the time down in half or switch to every other day. Good point!

I love green tea, so that is a good idea too! I am going to go make some right now.

I agree with you regarding the ATP boost. I have been researching everything I can about it and that seems to make sense about pumping up the ATP. It seems like that may be the biggest benefit of the infrared therapy.

I hope you have a safe and healthy move. How exciting. The LW will always be there for you if and when you want to use it again.

Does Marnie think you should take the magnesium right before each treatment or just take it in general as one of your supplements? I take it at night before bedtime.

Thanks for writing.

I can't do over 11 minutes without having a horrible herx (mental and physical) so I'm guessing you probably need to slow down.

I took a 2 week break to see if the toxin knots in my shoulders were so nasty and painful because of using Light Works and they were.

I will be ready to begin again in a week or so. I'm trying to get N.A.E.T. allergy elimination out of the way so it has taken me longer to really start ramping up on the Light Works machine. I don't want to be detoxing on both.

The Light Works definitely causes me to herx so I use a lot of clean up agents. Drinking fresh lemon water all day has helped me a lot along with charcoal.

I also use the infrared sauna and hot Epsom salt bathes which helps me a lot with pain.

I took two days off from Lightworks treatment and did the treatment again last night.

I still feel bad. Which is okay in my opinion because I at least feel as if this device is doing something(causing some kind of herx or die off reaction).

I am going to do another treatment this evening.

I am detoxing as well and taking my normal supplements.

I will continue to post my updates

PS I have had a light breakout type rash on my forehead for the last couple months that was persistent and it seems to be clearing up finally. I believe that the Lightworks is probably the cause of that, because I have used nothing different on my face. Yeah!!!!

I think Marnie said to use the magnesium about an hour before treatment.

Bejoy has posted that she only uses if for a few seconds, I think... I think it was under 3 minutes at the most on the areas she decided to treat which were acupuncture points meridians, or chakras - if I recall correctly.

It doesn't seem to have this intense effect on people who don't have Lyme - so, that must mean something!

You may be able to use the red side for treating skin... some people use different color LEDs for skin treatments, too. I think blue is better for acne & yellow or orange are good for wrinkles... Some devices for the skin also use infrared.

Just a suggestion, the Bionic treatment is only done twice weekly or three days apart to avoid overwhelming the body with toxins, to give it time to heal between treatments.

Dr. over there said it could be used daily without nosodes for pain, however.

I don't know if this info helps .....

Taking Mg an hour before this kind of treatment makes a lot of sense. It brings the Lyme out into spirochete form making it vulnerable to destruction.

My wife takes Mg an hour or two before frequency treatments. The same principle should apply for Lightworks.

You need to give your body some room to detoxify. Otherwise you could overwhelm your organs.

My guess is to to keep working on the binders. The most important binder I eventually found was to take two whole lemons. Slice each in halve and peel just yellow outside leaving the white and the fruit. Put it in a blender and fill with filtered water to make 32 ounces. Put some raw honey in with it and blackstrap molasses (lots of magnesium in the molasses) and it becomes a powerful electrolyte solution. Drink in between meals 16 ozs each time, this is very good for detoxing the liver and kidneys. I would only use the lightworks twice a week until you can get the reactions down.

Makes alot of sense, six... Thanks for posting.

My feeling is that general pain (muscle aches from over exertion, etc.) can be different than detox pain from killing spirochetes or the classic herx reaction.

The Bionic or similar device can be good for pain but if it's a herx - it may make things worse. Treating Lyme is tricky...

Also - I think Bejoy mentioned that you may also want to use a cyst buster like grapefruit seed extract during the course of the treatment. The infrared light may cause the bacteria to shift forms - so, you need to bring them out of hiding.

I don't know if there are other natural cyst busters. I would stay away from abx while using the infrared light.

I'm not a doctor - my advice is just what I've heard from others or my own experience.

Just wanted to thank you all!!!

Six - I am slowing down and am going to make sure I give my body the time and space it needs to detox.

D Bergy - I am going to try to take the Magnesium right before I do the treatment.
I usually take my Mag at night anyway, so this will work out great!

Bob - I love lemon in my water and have never blended it in with molases, but I love new ideas and new drinks. I am trying this one. thx.

Sparkle thank you for all the information you have offered me. I have never taken grapefruit extract, but my brother swears by it and could easily try it. I do agree we need to be very careful with Lyme and have to make sure we get it out ouf hiding if it's in the cyst form.

You guys are awesome.

Elizabeth, Thank you for sharing experiences. I

use both D Bergy's first rife machine, and LW. I also have much ear ringing/buzzing - awful after 4:30 PM.

Use of Rife = powerful herx's
Use of LW for 1 hour = good neuro-herx

Using these tools 3 days apart from one another.

If feeling really crappy - I take the LW to bedroom and use the 660 side for pain.

Wishing you Ton's of Success. Grace

I recently purchased a Lightworks. Didn't realize it had this potential. My dd on abx (Yes read not to do that after the fact) went through all the cycles with paddle on solar plexus area. Afterward, had wobbly legs and her little fingers tremored. (This has been a common herx type reaction for her on abx).

I used it for 30 minutes on my neck and I am not sure if it did a thing, but I am in so much pain lately, I can't tell a herx from life.

What I am curious about, concerned about.. can't make sense of, and I've spent a few hours in the archives, is:

if some of you are getting herx reactions without nosodes, then can we use this device for pain relief et al as Nogier frequencies state without concern of creating more die off? Are folks with lyme just "setup" for a die off with this type of device? There are times I'm not going to want to deal with more die off and would like to use the device more for support of die off... or just for non TBD related pain, if there is such a thing anymore at this point..is that possible?

Thanks.. R

I am sorry that I have not been updating... I have Been away for a couple of weeks due to holidays and 14 straight days of company.

Hi Molly, luv u too xoxo

I was not able to use my Lightworks as regularly as I would have liked over the Holidays, but did get in some treatments.

I can tell you however, that I did notice a difference in the way I have felt, when I have used it. Definitely noticed some neuro reactions i/e dizziness, buzzing in head etc... Still trying to find the balance between using the device enough, yet not over-doing it.

Now that I am back in my routine, I am going to use the Lightworks on a regular schedule and keep writing in my journal. I will of course update as I go along.

I have also noticed that since I have been using this device, I seem to have more energy. This is good because it's winter, and I usually have very little at this time of year. I have been able to up my exercise routine more. I am doing Pilates, yoga and weights. Yeah!

I still have to be careful not to over do it with the cardio workouts. Hopefully that will get better with time.

Happy New Year!
Elizabeth

Toodie-

My experience is that people with Lyme have a different reaction to the LW than people who don't.

My husband uses it with no "herxing" since he doesn't have Lyme. He loves it & it helps him alot with pain relief.

If I use it, I usually feel a herx coming on. I believe some people use it for very short "bursts" to "activate" the homeopathic remedies. You could probably use it for short amounts of time without nosodes for general Lyme relief.

I really don't know why it affects people with Lyme differently than people who don't have it. It does seem to kill the spirochetes. Then, you need something to "mop up" the toxins...

I would maybe try some other device for general pain relief such as a lower dosage infrared light, sauna, or pulsed electro-magnetic frequencies (which I haven't tried but I'm looking into).

Another method is that some people use energetic testing to determine the best method to use the LightWorks. Some people use pendulums, applied kinesology, or a tool called a Biotensor to determine timing for usage.

I have been using the LightWorks W/ nosodes and have not had a herx at all. I do 10 points 5 minutes each every other day... I have used different settings as well... One time I was feeling REALLY crappy and after I used it I felt a little better... But NEVER a herx..

Is this not what is supposed to happen??? I love it though, and will keep using it... (till I have to give it back of course!!!)

When I put it on my forhead and top of my head it feels tingly... I don't know if that really means anything though??

UnexpectedIlls,

I don't know if you are supposed to have a herx or not, I can only tell you that I definitely am having them, using my Lightworks.

I am glad you are enjoying using your unit.

I am keeping a diary and had another strong reaction to using mine last week and used it again tonight. I am waiting to see if I notice anything.

This machine is definitely doing something. For that, I am very happy.

Keep us posted on your results using your Lightworks.

Thanks,
Elizabeth

I do believe it's very important to detox. I am drinking lots of lemon water etc....
