I am having the funniest issue with my Picc line. Sometimes it is absolutely fine, and sometimes it runs very slowly. My LLMDs office is planning a flush this week, just to be safe, which I really appreciate.

But I am mystified.

Wouldn't a clog cause it to run slowly all of the time?

My crazy theories include:
1. It runs slow after I overexert my arm (e.g., lifting too much. I run around with my 30 pound daughter a lot, lifting groceries, etc.)
2. It runs slow when my apartment is cold (which is quite often)
3. It runs slow when I am anxious, so everything is tense

Anyhow, if anyone has had a similar experience, let me know. Thanks!

Hi,
I have line in my arm(4days in 3 days off).
This week has been horrible.

It's been going in slow and very painful around the wrist and upper arm.

I am having therapy of the same are because they think I have tendonitis.

I have also, had burning all over (especially on my lips)while the ceftriaxone is going in.

It worries me that I am destroying my body with this stuff.

Wow, Atheana, that sounds horrible!

I had mine flushed today. They put some anti-coagulant in there and let it sit for about an hour. It is much better, and running almost like it used to. Roto rooter, as the pharmacist put it.

Can you have yours checked out as well?
