I have not been to see an LLMD (I am going for the first time on Thursday the 18th, wish me luck), but I am taking lots of meds from my other doctors for all of my symptoms. Are there any meds that anyone knows of that I shouldn't be taking?

P.S. after I wrote the bit below:

I see that you are going to see an LLMD on the 18th - a week from now. It would be good to make a list of the drugs you take, supplements, too.

If any are antibiotics (abx), call the office manager now at the LLMDs office and ask if you should continue/discontinue in case any might affect the accuracy of testing that may be done that day.

If you are on any kind of steroid, the doctor must know that.

Good luck with your appointment. If you can get the Singleton book before that would sure help as an introduction.

It's nearly impossible to answer your question without much more information - but your upcoming LLMD visit will take care of that.

For myself, with tinnitus (ringing in the ears), I must avoid any drugs that increase that. Those include zithromax, minocycline and Biaxin. Some people do fine on those but if you have tinnitus, consider that these can make that worse for some people.

Generally, drugs are processed through the liver &/or kidneys. You don't want to have to take more than you need but you want to take what you need to get over the underlying cause - for long enough to do so.

This book may answer many questions and offer information on some safe supplements than can help both symptoms and be more gentle on your liver for support. For abx tx, the pros and cons of various abx are discussed.

This book, by an ILADS member LLMD, holds great information about treatments options and support measures:

You can do a search above for this thread by Melanie Reber:

Making the most of your first LLMD appointment

I'd search by her full name as I may not have the exact title of the thread correct.
