Anyone have positive experience with either of these 2 meds for low BP??
I've been taking Florinef - 1 1/2 pills daily as 1 pill does nothing, but am still not happy with the results. Also tried Midodrine but can't tolerate it and it didn't work anyway.
Dr.Teitelbaum says his choice meds for this are Zoloft or Prozac......Any thoughts??
Thanks in advance!

Seems like we should really stay away from these drugs (as well as the other psychotropics, if you ask me. They can be sooo neurotoxic.)
I've been on Zoloft and off it, but the reason was not for my NMH/POTS. I've gotten relief from a combo of Florinef, midodrine, and a beta blocker.
Right now it's out of balance and the newest change is doing what I predicted, making my tachycardia return! I'll monitor it a few more days, then get in for an appointment before the end of the week.

I was under the impression that SSRIs like Zoloft could make low blood pressure or POTS worse.
The best thing I have found for POTS is actually making my own sea salt pills and taking maybe....3 grams per day.
(note: some individuals are salt sensitive......you may want to be monitored by a doctor before attempting something like that......do it with caution, etc)
With low bp or POTS, you don't want to restrict your salt in your diet (usually, see above warning), and you want to get plenty of electrolytes (salt is one form)
Other forms of electrolytes is something like ElectroMix, which can be found on iherb.com
Those things have worked for me.
Or, some use Midodrine. Some use beta blockers, but they can make the problem worse or better, depending on the person.
Hope this wasn't too confusing....sorry if it was

So no one has experience of Zoloft or Prozac for NMH....think I remember Wild Condor talking about this before...will PM her.
As I said have tried Florinef, and lots of salt and water..along with Midodrine and Beta Blocker on/off but not happy with results.
Thanks anyway!

Cleared my mailbox...thanks..
Have you had a Tilt Table Test?? What did it show if you had it? Usually beta blockers are the first treatment, then florinef (or both) plus zoloft. Also hydrate well, avoid dairy, prolonged standing is bad, as is heat!!
