I am just curious as to which tick bourne disease caused the brainfog.

I am not sure if it is more lyme or babs for me...

but i know I am much dumber than i used to be... i miss parts of conversation all the time..

can't read a book or watch a movie due to concentration and forget where i put everything

and forget really stupid things like water needs to go into the coffee machine to make tea [bonk] etc etc etc.

My fatigue is crushing and i am not sure if i am so dumb because i am so tired or if it is a seperate symtpom or what it is coming from..

so i was interested in others thoughts on what they think caused it. Thank You [group hug]

Hi Azure.

Babesia, I'm pretty sure. At least for me.

Not that my brain is anything stellar. But, I can usually find my house now. Also, I don't fall asleep sitting upright any more.

I hope you find some relief. It DOES get better than that!

HI,

I don't know what germ it is but I definitely have to put extra mental effort out to do common things.

I look at my spect scan and amazed that blood is flowing at all.

Sometimes I think I can do some hard mental puzzle then I find myself drifting from it and scribbling down anything to finish it.

Kindly,
barb

Azure,
I REALLY understand the "dumbing down" thingy. It is, by far, my most difficult symptom to deal with. Feels like my IQ has dropped 50 points.

Word finding is major and is impossible to explain to people. I constantly, get stuck in the middle of a sentence, lose train of thought, etc.

It does seem to be worse when fatigue is at its highest, but I don't think fatigue is the cause.

Don't know the culprit either but am being treated for lyme and babesia.

Wish I had better answers for you.

I suspect mine was erlichia. 5 weeks of doxy cleared my brainfog right up. It was the first abx I took. I still have a touch of brainfog but it is minimal compared to what it was.
