I have in my head 5 days for one and 24 hours for one. Is this even right?

I think the info Lymestop posted is for malaria and not babesia. Similar lifecycle but I think there are some differences.

Babesia quintana (quint for 5) does reproduce every 5 days, but not exactly sure about b. duncani and other species.

I am not too sure, but I can tell you this:

I told my LLMD that once when I was a child, I had a tick bite, and had fevers of 102-103 while the tick was still attached. I was assuming that I got babesia at that time, but he told me that I had instead gotten bartonella then (so babs I probably got later in life), because bart CAN cause fevers that quickly, but that babesia would take much longer to show symptoms, as would Lyme....and in fact, the more time went on, the better I got, without abx. (Though I had lasting psych/brain disturbances following that incident).

I could be misinterpreting...but that was basically the gist of the conversation.

I have also heard that if you relapse within a day or two after missing an abx dose, or after stopping abx, it is likely Bart.

So...this leads me to conclude that Bartonella probably reproduces much faster than Lyme or babesia?

I dunno, but that is what I'm assuming.....just thought I'd throw it out there [Smile] . I would guess Bart is the 24 hour one.
