We're having a flu party here. Some are bouncing back quickly, others aren't so fortunate.

Is the contagious period longer in those who are sicker longer? I hate to be housebound for any time longer than needed.

Man we got hit with it here. It last 4 weeks for me, and I still have alittle going on now, but not bad. My daughter who is healthy had to for 4 weeks as well, and my husband who is healthy managed to slide by with it only for a week.

My 7 month old grandbaby really got hit with it, and she was sick 2 weeks.

Seems to have no pattern, but it IS the pits!

Two have recovered very quickly...began feeling better within 24 hours, but I was told to keep them out of school 5 days. Two have lingering illness, so far it's been one week. Four haven't got sick and are taking Relenza to prevent the flu.

I want to know how soon I can take the two sickies out without spreading the love.

The standard infectious period is from one day before the illness to 5 days after getting sick. But, it seems like my sickest ones keep getting sick. Maybe it's just Lyme complicating things.
