As I found in literature the combination of quinolones and Rifampin are quite common. For example rifampin 2x300 + Ciprofloxacin 2x750 for q-Fever(Ricketsia coxiella burneeti). Anyone tried this combination of rif + cipro or rif + levaquin?

Please share your experiences. Thanks in advance

The standard for my LLMD is Rafampin & Levaquin. I have been on that combo, did not see it make any difference, but then again, did not test positive for Bart and not sure I have it.

Be extremely careful while on those drugs--they can really mess you up (like, say, give you permanent brain damage.) Make sure you don't take any NSAID's (like Advil) while on them, and do your research as to what to be on the lookout for. I certainly wouldn't take two quinolones at once.

This site would be a good place to start: fqresearch.org

@adam: Rifampin is not a quinolone. The question was rifampin and a quinolone together.
Why can`t one take NSAID like Ibuprophen together with Rifampin?

Sorry I was unclear. I was speaking specifically about quinolones.

Sigh...Lyme in action.
