It is Metagenics's adrenal support formula. It is a bovine (cow) adrenal hormone with some B vitamins.

I am considering buying it from my chiropractor and giving it a whirl, because I'm pretty sure I am adrenal fatigued, and don't really want to pay for all the saliva testing. I was thinking I would maybe just give this supplement a shot.

I have really bad fatigue as a symptom, and I am desperate for something to help me.

Has anyone tried it? Experiences?

Thanks!

Daughter used Ortho Adapt which might be similar. Got it from her naturopath. I would still recommend the ZRT saliva panel that looks at all hormones. I know it's $200, but it was so worth it. She just did a second one Monday and waiting to see how cortisol looks with Cortef treatment. At 16, her hormones were comparable to a 60 year old woman in August! That's a huge part of why I think she isn't responding well to ABX after a year.

The other thing her compunding pharmacist just said when I asked him abot the Ortho Adapt lasty week, is that it is an "adaptive" supplement and Cortef actually feeds the adrenals. He wants to see what the ZRT reveals to determine if they need adapted or cortisol. I wouldn't just start anything without knowing where your hormones are.

Word of caution. I would consider if you really want to take a bovine product due to the possibility of mad cow disease. I would not.

Perhaps, try Rhodiola, it's an adaptagen (good for over active or low adrenal function) that is

a very effective. Look for the higest percentage of rosavin in the product you buy.

Neuro science makes an excellent adrenal formula that many alternative doctors use called AdreCor that contains Rhodiola, among other things.

However, your would be wise to have testing done so you know what you are really dealing with. You can use neuro science to test all of your neuro transmitters, plus adrenal function that will give you the big picture about what's going on with you.

Ashwagandha is another adrenal adaptagen.

I agree with abxnomore

I was on Metagenics Adrenogen for over a year and didn't notice anything. Then I went on ADR by Pure encapsulations and still didn't notice anything.

It wasn't until I did saliva testing thru LLMD that I found out I had low morning cortisol and put on low dose fludrocortisone and 2.5 mg. Hydrocortisone.

I noticed I could stand up and not get faint anymore it was great.

LLMD also put me on Adrenal Essence which I'm not too sure did much either ( this did not have bovine in it).

I can say I'm sure glad I did the saliva testing.

hope this helps.
