I was on doxy for a month and one month into the treatment i have developed major stomach problems. My LLMD tested me for a stomach bug and didnt tell me until last week that i have it.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and lyme. I am given rx for Prevpac which i start next week. I am trying to heal my stomach and havent taken any meds for a week. However, i thought it was abx making me sick but my stomach still is the same!
I eat a small meal and i get bloaded like i pigged out and gas, belching, acid and that triggers me to get more sick with my neuro symptoms. I am just wondering if lyme is the reason for my stomach or is it really that H pylori. (I had started feeling sick with my stomach before starting the treatment, but i think doxy made it worst).
Thanks guys!

Get rid of the H pylori first, What's left is lyme !

I think they work together. I had some trouble getting rid of h. pylorii but all remaining ulcer symptoms spontaneously resolved a few months later when my Lyme symptoms resolved. Treatment for it is with Lyme antibiotics though, so there's no huge reason to not do it unless you cna't handle those antibiotics for some reason.
There is a TON of info online about treating it with herbal formulas, too. that works along with antibiotics and can provide some supportive therapy that helps heal the stomach while you're killing the bug.

Mastic Gum is used to treat H-pylori.
If you have a Rife machine use 676 hz for ten minutes a day for a week.

mastic gum is a very good drug/herb for this.

Where can i get that herb from? Online?

yes, it's pretty cheap. Some good suppliers of supplements are iherb.com and vitacost.com
I took a small spoonful in a lot of water twice a day along with other herbs. It's a topical antibiotic for the stomach lining and also is soothing to the injured tissues.
see page 98 for the formula (the web page will let you select pages). The formula on page 98 contains some ingredients that are hard to find- you can't find acacia tincture or eucalyptus tincture very easily. Acacia powder does the job very well.
I think that you can get pretty far without following Stephen's formula if you take just mastic, marshmallow, acacia, and DGL. DGL replaces the licorice in his formula on page 98.
DGL, a supplement that's used sort of like Tums or Rolaids, has a licorice extract that helps deal with ulcer. you can get it at Vitacost.
For ingredients for Buhner's formula, order powders here:
Eucalyptus leaf- these are going to be whole leaves that you have to pulverize in a coffeegrinder. I just left the eucalyptus part out of my formula when I used it. $2.50/several ounces of leaf: http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/bulkherb/e.html
Based on my experience, if I had to do this again I'd also order marshmallow root powder and add it to the licorice/comfrey/acacia powders and crushed or powdered eucalyptus: http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/bulkherb/m.html
and from Vitacost I'd order the mastic, goldenseal tincture, and grapefruit seed extract (I didn't use the GSE myself, it all worked fine, that stuff is nasty).
For bismuth, just use peptobismol from the drugstore, your doctor probably told you to do the same when you treat with antibiotics.
This stuff shouldn't interfere with the antibiotics for the ulcer, though I'd take them at different times in case the marshmallow or acacia act as a binder somehow.

Also- this stuff isn't an exact science- if you can't get all the ingredients, some of them will help. I found the powder to be a nice symptom relief for the pain of ulcer. You put a TB of powder into a glass of water, stir, and drink (not tasty). Relief!
I cured a HORRIBLE case of ulcer after taking the same antibiotics as you, and the herbs (the ulcer pain didn't clear up immediately after 3 weeks of antibiotics, but I continued the herbs for another few months, the pain went away, and it hasn't come back since)
