Any of you have some recommendations for getting thrush off the back of your tongue?

I have tried the liquid nystatin for a while and it doesn't do much. Are there some natural foods/supplements that will kill that stuff?

Oreganol P73 (take orally and make a mouthwash)

Olive leaf extract

Lugol's Iodine (careful not to OD on this)

Grapefruit seed extract (they have a liquid that you could make a mouth wash out of and take orally)

Salt water

I recommend the Burrascano guidelines, on p. 34 where it explains how to do it. You can use peroxide, Listerine, etc. to scrub the entire mouth, and then break open a probiotic capsule and sprinkle it on the tongue and let it stay there.

This method will work if you catch the yeast early. However, if you have had it a few days, with each swallow, it has gone down into your stomach and intestines and is now growing there also.

So, then usually this method will not be successful and you will need a prescription for something systemic.

Here's the link to Burrascano:

Best advice is watch the tongue carefully and catch it early. Then, you won't need a prescription from the doc.

I have been taking nystatin constantly during treatment to prevent yeast, and my tests showed no yeast in the GI tract, I think it is just on the tongue. I will go out and get some of that stuff you suggested. That will be one more symptom I can check of my symptom chart. [Big Grin]

Mycopryl. I get it at a 50% discount, so I sell it to you at my cost plus 15%.
Just kidding! [bonk]

But this stuff is the real deal. My ND started me on it a few weeks ago. It is coconut oil with cal and mag; it slow releases in the intestine. My herxes have been obvious in the form of fatigue.

I have an excellent article on candida, but you can find it on the Thorne site - the maker of Mycopryl 680.
