Hello,
I've had lyme for 10 yrs, dx in aug of 03. Doxy is one of the only orals I've never tried. Anyone have any experience with doxy for late stage lyme? Currently, my worst sx are horrible back/spine pain and fatigue. Also, any suggestions for an abx protocol are greatly appreciated..going to my LLMD on the 20th and want to present options.
Thanks in advance,
Sarah

...Don't despair if doxy doesn't work, it didn't for either lymie in this house.

Bactrim and a macrolide (biaxin or zith) worked for us.

it's a highly individualized treatment. Forget one size treats all.

Sarah,

I hope it does, I have been on it for 5 months.

I have had lyme for 20 years though. I don't know how long to give it, I know I will take longer than most diagnosed more recently.

I don't feel any better though.

Kind regards,
Shalome

I had Lyme since 1994 and been on doxy for almost 3 years - I am slowly getting better. Started with 200 mgs and last 8 months been on 400 mgs

Doxy is one of my favorite RX. It's the feel good brain drug for me.

However, it will cause the spirochetes to go into cysts. You'll need to try brand name Flagyl to go after those, especially if you've had Lyme for any length of time.

Hi randi

If I'm not mistaken I think Biaxin will attack cyst form. If I am wrong and some reads this please correct me.
