My LLMD Rxed Cortef and I'm about to try it soon. The instructions given to me are so vague. The office basically lets you pick and choose dosages and I'm not comfortable with this. I'm not a doc. lol. I'll look to you for help.
The starting dose is said to be 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet in the morning. Somehow between the first dose and two weeks in, the recommended dosage is 20 mg in the morning and 10 mg in the afternoon. 2.5 mg to 30 mg daily with no direction on how to bump? Big gap, huh?
I intend to try 20 mg tops total to see how I do. The office is fine w/that. Anyone with experience able to comment on a reasonable dosing schedule? Thanks so much.

You're a big boy. You can do this!!!
How about 1/2 tablet am and pm for two, three days, then 1 5mg in a.m. and one in the pm....just on and on.
I take 10mg total per day.

I know Lymetoo. I've never taken Cortef and apologize if I seem hesitant as I have no idea of side effects. I err on the side of caution with hormones. Also, I'm not thinking that straight with the head pressure from Doxy.
10 mg daily is certainly less than 30 mg. Remember, I have no support of any local physicians on this stuff and if something happens, they won't care a bit.
Your protocol sounds fine. That's why I was asking patients with experience. One could literally read the script as jump automatically from 2.5 mg to 30 mg daily exactly 2 weeks after starting. If I took it literally, that's exactly how to interpret it. I didn't know doses were being escalated until I called the office on another issue.
I'm fine with this. I mean nothing bad about the doctor in any way. I'm just learning as I go and hoping for the best. Actually, I'm very impressed with the thoroughness of the information received. It was leaps and bounds above what I was issued from my prior doc.

There aren't many side effects that I've encountered. I belong to the "less is more society" so that is why I take a conservative 10mg.
