What are they using to destroy the biofilm?

The question becomes, what is the most effective treatment for biofilm?

oregano oil
edta iv/suppository

my feeling is haritaki fruit or terminalia chebula. after doing all three. the fruit has been used as part of the triphala or 3 fruit herbal remedy used for thousands of years in India as part of ayurvedic medicine.

I used to take a product called Virustop for dissolving biofilms, always on an empty stomach, because it's enzymes for digestion. If the stomach is empty, they go systemic and digest the stuff that makes up the biofilm.

My LLMD took me off that product, and on Lumbrokinase, which is developed from a certain worm--it's an enzyme that needs to be taken on a totally empty stomach and then wait at least an hour before anything else, even other supplements. I take it twice a day, once in the middle of the night.

The other supplement that I was told to take to help with biofilms is guaifenesin! Who knew? I just heard about that as a protocol that called for limited diet and products, a whole way of life. Now I just take it with my other supplements, and have been told it will work.

I don't know how I'll know if the biofilms are dissolved. I'm thinking what's supposed to happen is I get to feeling well, and eventually start dropping various things until I find out what I need to keep taking to keep feeling well.

I tried guaifenesin when they told me I had fibromyalgia. It didn't help me. It's alot of trouble to go through to remove all salicylic acid from the diet & cosmetics.

I don't know about it's effect on biofilms.

FYI - found this info on another website about the Marshall protocol-

Guaifenesin

Guaifenesin is an expectorant drug usually taken orally to assist the bringing up ("expectoration") of phlegm from the airways in acute respiratory tract infections.

It works by drawing water into the bronchi. The water both thins mucus and lubricates the airway, facilitating the removal of mucus by coughing.

One may notice a sense of dry mouth when taking this medication. Water consumption is important, not only to help with dry mouth, but also to improve the effectiveness of the drug.

Guaifenesin is sold as pills or syrups under many brand names such as Guai-Aid, GuaiLife, Ethex 208, Humibid, Mucinex and Robitussin.

It is also included in many other over-the-counter cough and cold remedy combinations (usually in conjunction with dextromethorphan and/or phenylephrine and/or acetaminophen).

Dextromethorphan is an antitussive and this combination can lead to fewer, but more productive coughs.

Guaifenisen may palliate all lung symptoms, not just coughing and reduce systemic immunupathology also.

Because of its uricosuric effect, guaifenesin was chosen in the 1990s for the experimental guaifenesin protocol - a treatment for fibromyalgia.

Proponents of the guaifenesin protocol believe that it cures fibromyalgia by removing excess phosphate from the body. A lesser publicized and thus lesser known fact among fibromyalgia sufferers is that guaifenesin has skeletal muscle relaxant activity, like its carbamate ester methocarbamol which is used primarily for that purpose.

This may explain some of the symptomatic relief experienced by fibromyalgia sufferers who take guaifenesin.

Immunopathology

Even at normal OTC doses guaifenesin is mildly immunosuppressive. Low doses are compatible with the MP and may be used to reduce intolerable immunopathology.

Single ingredient guiafenesin (tablets or liquid) are preferable to any combination products which may contain ingredients such as decongestants, antihistamines or cough suppressants which you may not need. Be sure you know what you are taking.

You might find a slight surge of symptoms during "withdrawal" from periods of intense guaifenesin use.

I take serrapeptase for biofilms.

Sparkle7, thank you for the information about quaifenesin.

Pamoisondelune, I also have serrapeptase, and it's included in the enzyme mix in Virustop. If my doctor hadn't told me to use just the lumbrokinase, and to let him know if I change anything, I'd be using that too. It makes sense to me to have a variety of enzymes to cover any material that needs to be dissolved.

I have a history of taking initiative in my treatment, and once it backfired badly. After almost 30 years of going it alone, it's hard to just do as told, even tho it's coming from a LLMD, and I am getting better.

If you do a search on google scholar the only thing that has been studied to break up biofilm is EDTA. It works. There is no research on the other products mentioned. I started it a few days ago and bad herxes, so it must be doing something.

lymie in md-your mail box is full...how do you take the oregano oil? how much?

Hey Turbo I just wanted to point out that the EDTA could be mobilizing mercury. It is very good at knocking mercury lose from binding sites but not at carrying mercury out of the body. So that could be why you feel bad.
