Which muscle relaxants have people found effective? And without too many side effects, esp sedation??

My LLMD has suggested Robaxin or Skelaxin - anyone have experience of these?

Thanks for any feedback [Smile]

never worked for me long term. I was out of ambien one day and took 15-20 of each muscle relaxer thinking it would knock me out.

I spent the next day vomiting.

Not a good combination.

They worked great for a little while.

Robaxin is a diaretic, might make you urinate more, it also turns into guifenesin in your body.

Skelaxin tolerance is quick

Flexeril is related to the old trycyclic anti depressant named Elavil. It even tastes and smells the same.

It could be good for you.

Baclofen helps me sometimes, but no major cure. You can take between 10-60 mg daily.

My dr. just put me on Amrix ER. 15mg. can go 30mg. once a day after supper.

I believe it to be Flexeril.

Have tried Skelaxen, Soma, Parafon Forte.Ths is mythird day on Amrix ER and it is doing well and drowsiness has gotten less since the first day.

Going for neurological testing Tues. and then we'll figure out treatment.

Muscles in legs have been twitching and moving and they ache. Am scared and praying big time.

I would try the Amrix. Not sure if it's generic or not. He gave me samples. Anyone know?

i really like skelaxin

flexeril makes me so dopy for 3 days i can't remember where i was-even if i was driving...

skel just takes the spasms away

remember magnesium too

when i had severe face and head pain last month for 4 days i took a skelaxin every 6 hrs when awake and a vicoden once at bedtime and in 3 days the cycle broke and the pain went away-we are assuming it is trigeminal neuralgia-but i haven't gotten to neurol yet
