I was wondering what is air hunger.

I feel out of breath alot but the real problem seems to be this pain it feels like air pockets in my chest they hurt and it feels like you have to belch all the time!

I have already had an upper GI and they didnt see anything not even gastric reflux.

It gets really bad when im dizzy , does this make any sense to anyone ?

These air pockets seem to just come on all of sudden and nothing gets rid of them .

If any one knows how to help please let me know .

I have even been to the ER thinking i was having a heart attack.

This has been with me for all of my treatment and before diagnosis. It does feel like a heart attack until the burp comes out.... and I am speaking of monster man burps.

I have this everyday. I don't think that most would describe this as air hunger though.

Have you noticed that it is worse after having eaten or drinking something?

Yes it is worse after I eat .

And it seems that I can move a certain way and that brings it on when I havent had it .

I have taken every antiacid ,rx, right off the shelf nothing helps .

and it seems to be worse at night and in the mornings

Sometimes yeast causes me to feel this way.

Horribly bloated wishing I could move some extra air out.

Sometimes drinking a diet coke with splenda helps me burp.

Could be your pancreas or gall bladder.

May want to have those old liver enzyme levels checked

And maybe an ultrasound to rule out sludge or stones in the gall bladder.

Gave me the sensation of the worst heart burn in the world.

Without burping.

Hugs,

Geneal

I get both the air hunger and what you're describing--they're not the same thing.

I don't know what causes what you're feeling.

Gall bladder could be an issue, but I had my gall bladder out, and I still gets those gassy air pocket things.

Air hunger is more of a feeling that you're just not getting enough oxygen, even if you breathe deeply.

My air hunger has been worse lately,, and I've even been getting it in the middle of the night.

Mine got so bad at work today that I thought I'd pass out.

I get both too, sometimes when I'm talking, mid-sentence I involuntarily gulp for air. The person I'm talking to looks at me like'what was that?'

Dear lymesc,
I agree with the others about the gallbladder. It normally did that to me. Sometimes, I even got dry heaves because I could not belch. You feel as if you are having a heart attack! Many people who have gallbladder problems often think they are having a heart attack instead of what is really the trouble.

The tests are not always that accurate, though. Nothing showed in the tests, but intuition told me something was wrong. It is a good thing I listened. The PCP was saying the test showed nothing, so my gallbladder could not be an issue. He finally gave in after being pestered enough, and allowed me to see a surgeon.

I was in fact a candidate for surgery, so I had the operation. My gallbladder was extremely inflamed and irritated, and nearly ruptured. It was removed just in time! Later, it was discovered that gallbladder disease tends to be caused by Celiac Disease. You just never know, do you?

Sincerely,
Jin
